The Best Brand in the Business. Almost Nobody Knows It.

Summary

The 60 Second Version We have moved Fortune 500 executives, marquee events, and mission-critical trips for 105 years. We have 1,000+ vetted partners and a duty-of-care standard no rideshare app can touch. The clients who have signed with us know exactly what we are worth. Almost everyone else has never heard the name. There is no marketing function. Not a small one. Zero people. Four commercial lines pitch this organization four different ways, and roughly 5,600 dormant and dark-book accounts sit untouched. This is a strategy seat, not an execution seat. The reputation is real and already earned. What has never existed is a person whose job is to point it outward. You decide what this brand says it is, what category it owns, and what the company stops saying. Two contractors already ship campaigns and CRM plumbing underneath you, so your hands stay on the strategy. Your First Two Weeks - Read the book. Sales, Account Management, Customer Experience, and end-to-end event pursuits for large events. Four pitches, one company. - Write the messaging source of truth: one value proposition, three proof pillars, one voice. - Set the reactivation strategy against the dormant and dark-book list, then point the contractors at it. - Stand up the scoreboard: qualified pipeline, cost per lead, reactivation rate. What You Will Own 1. Positioning: Name the Category We are not a car service. We are a logistics operating system for people who cannot afford a missed pickup. Own the messaging source of truth and the visual and verbal identity across every channel. Turn a century of quiet wins into a story competitors cannot copy. 2. Demand Strategy: Carry the Number You own qualified pipeline generated, company-wide. Not impressions. Not activity. Build the channel plan and the monthly scoreboard, then decide where the effort goes: new-logo pursuits, expansion plays for Account Management, or end-to-end event pursuits for large events. Stack channels so a call, a note, and content land in the same window. 3. Reactivation: Win Back the Base The accounts already billing Carey, plus the lapsed and rate-rejected, come first. Cheapest proof of any motion we have. Design it as a system on a published calendar, not a one-off blast. Set the sender-reputation standard. Warm domain separate from cold. Verified lists. Deliverability guarded like inventory. 4. The Function Direct the contractors already in place on campaign execution and CRM operations. You set the brief and the quality bar. Define the founding team: what roles, in what order, against what proof. Then hire them. Set the cadence: weekly pipeline review, monthly brand and demand readout. Non Negotiables - Seven or more years leading marketing, brand, or demand generation, with real budget and team ownership. - You have built a marketing function, brand, or category from zero. Caretakers of mature brands are not a fit. - You have personally owned a pipeline or revenue-influenced number of meaningful scale. Be ready to name it. - B2B demand generation depth: HubSpot, paid social, cold and warm email at volume, and the deliverability discipline behind it. - Executive presence. You brief the C-suite and board-level stakeholders, not just your manager. -Private-equity pace. Engaged owner, active board, urgency as the default setting. -AI-native. You use Claude or equivalent to multiply output. If your process looks like 2019, this is not a fit. Nice To Have - Fractional or interim CMO work, especially where you walked into a company with no marketing function and left one behind. If you have carried the CMO seat at two or three companies at once, say so and tell us what you would drop to carry this one properly. - Premium, hospitality, travel, or professional services B2B. - Category creation or category naming you can point to publicly. - Selling into corporate travel managers, executive assistants, and procurement. - Lovable, v0, or similar AI site builders. We want landing pages live in a day. - Freckle.io, Clay, or GetSwan for enrichment. Curiosity, not a requirement. - n8n, Make, or Zapier for wiring AI into campaign workflows.
