Thinkific Liquid Developer Needed to Fix Sign-Up and Login Forms – Fixed Budget $50

We are looking for a developer with direct experience working with customized Thinkific themes, Liquid code and Thinkific authentication forms to fix a specific sign-up and login issue on our online academy website. This is a clearly defined technical correction. Thinkific Support has already reproduced the issue, identified its cause, confirmed the affected theme files and provided the default code that needs to be restored. Fixed budget: USD 50 Please apply only if you are comfortable completing the full task within this fixed budget. Background and current issue Our Thinkific site uses a customized theme. Some users can successfully create accounts and log in, but certain prospective customers experience one or both of the following issues: * They are unable to complete the sign-up process. * They receive an “Invalid email or password” message when attempting to log in, even when the credentials are correct. In one confirmed case: 1. We manually created the student’s account. 2. We manually enrolled the student in the relevant course. 3. The student used the password-reset functionality. 4. After resetting the password, Thinkific automatically logged the student in successfully. 5. The student then closed the website. 6. When attempting to log in again using the newly created password, Thinkific displayed “Invalid email or password.” 7. The student repeated the password-reset process and experienced exactly the same issue again. The password-reset page works because it still uses Thinkific’s standard code. The customized sign-in and sign-up forms are the affected components. Thinkific Support diagnosis Thinkific Support exported our customized theme to a test site and confirmed that the theme code causes the issue. Their findings were: * The sign-in page produces an “email is null” error. * The user’s email address is not being submitted correctly by the customized form. * Passwords are being updated correctly. * The customized sign-in form is not submitting the authentication request correctly. * Essential default code related to Thinkific’s Invisible reCAPTCHA and hidden anti-spam fields appears to be missing from the sign-in and sign-up forms. * The password-reset page is not affected because it still uses Thinkific’s default code. * Account creation during checkout is not affected because the customized theme code does not run during checkout. The developer must first review the existing structure of both customized forms and integrate the missing elements in the appropriate locations. In particular: * Do not duplicate existing form elements. * Do not create duplicate submit buttons. * Do not duplicate or misplace % endform % * Confirm that the Liquid form structure remains valid. * Preserve the existing visual design and styling. * Keep the essential reCAPTCHA logic and hidden anti-spam fields intact. * Visual customizations such as fonts, colours and button styling may remain, provided the required Thinkific functionality is preserved. Required scope of work The selected developer will be expected to: 1. Create a backup or duplicate of the current live Thinkific theme before making any changes. 2. Review the existing signin_form and signup_form files. 3. Compare the current customized code with the default functionality described by Thinkific Support. 4. Restore the missing honeypot and Invisible reCAPTCHA functionality. 5. Correct the form submission structure so the email address is passed correctly. 6. Ensure the sign-in request no longer returns an “email is null” error. 7. Preserve the current layout, branding and styling. 8. Confirm that all Liquid form tags are correctly opened and closed. 9. Confirm that % endform %is not duplicated or incorrectly positioned. 10. Publish the corrected theme after the changes have been reviewed. 11. Complete the essential functional testing described below. 12. Provide a short written confirmation of the changes made and the test results. Required testing The developer must test the following flow: * Create a new student account through the standard sign-up page. * Log in using the newly created account. * Log out. * Log in again using the same credentials. * Close the browser or website. * Return to the site and log in again. * Reset the password. * Log in using the newly reset password. * Log out and log in again using the same reset password. * Test the process on desktop. * Test the process on mobile or using a responsive/mobile environment. * Perform at least one test in a private or incognito browser window. * Review the browser console and confirm that the “email is null” error no longer appears. A large multi-browser audit is not required unless the issue continues after the initial correction. Deliverables The job will be considered complete when: * Sign-up works correctly. * Sign-in works correctly. * Users can log out and subsequently log back in using the same credentials. * Password-reset credentials remain valid for future login attempts. * The existing website design remains intact. * The reCAPTCHA and anti-spam functionality is restored. * No “email is null” error appears in the browser console. * The developer provides confirmation of the tests completed. * A backup of the previous theme version is available.
