Three.js / Babylon.js Browser 3D Feasibility Specialist
Worldwide
We are seeking an experienced browser 3D systems specialist to conduct a small, fixed-scope technical feasibility review for an original interactive-world prototype. This is not a visual-design role, a full-world build, or a request for production code. The purpose is to determine whether Three.js, Babylon.js, or another browser-deliverable runtime can satisfy a locked technical proof specification while keeping application state independent from the renderer. The prototype requires a first-person or embodied browser experience with physics, persistent state, deterministic one-shot events, reliable suspension/resume behaviour, mobile-browser practicality, and independently deployable source. Core technical principle: “A generated world may render the place. It must not own the condition.” Relevant experience Applicants should provide direct evidence of experience with several of the following: * Three.js and/or Babylon.js * WebGL and WebGPU * Browser-based first-person or embodied traversal * Browser physics libraries * Mobile-browser performance * Page visibility changes, tab suspension and device sleep * WebGL context loss and scene reconstruction * Separation of renderer state from application state * Deterministic events, replay protection or idempotency * Asset loading, memory management and deployment * Source-controlled, independently hosted browser builds Review scope The selected specialist will: 1. Compare Three.js and Babylon.js against the supplied proof requirements. 2. Identify the largest technical and browser-lifecycle risks. 3. Review an engine-independent TypeScript state-core pattern. 4. Assess whether the governed TypeScript state package can remain free of engine imports. 5. Assess physics restoration, suspension/resume and WebGL context-loss risks. 6. Assess mobile performance, loading, memory and hosting practicality. 7. Recommend the shape, cost and duration of a later bounded technical proof. Required deliverable A concise written feasibility report containing: * a requirement-by-requirement comparison; * major risks and likely mitigations; * unresolved questions or assumptions; * an assessment of source ownership, exportability and replaceable hosting; * a recommendation for the next technical-proof milestone. Important boundaries * Do not build production Realm code. * Do not construct the complete interactive world. * Do not make the final engine selection. * Do not redesign the experience or provide visual-direction work. * Private system architecture and final Realm artwork are excluded. * The renderer must not become the authority for governed application state. * All source, assets, dependency versions and deployment instructions for any later proof must be capable of independent delivery. * Critical dependence on proprietary world-hosting services is not acceptable. Contract * Fixed price: USD $200 * One bounded feasibility-review milestone * Anticipated start: 4 August 2026 or later * Applications and preliminary screening are open now. * No work begins until the specialist receives a funded offer and written approval. Please apply only if you can show relevant browser 3D systems work. Visual portfolios without supporting technical implementation evidence will not be sufficient.
