Thumbnail Artist

About the role: I run a growing portfolio of YouTube channels in the home-DIY space, expanding into a widening range of other niches. I'm hiring a Head of Thumbnails to own the thumbnails across the entire portfolio — coming up with new concepts, executing the concepts I hand you, researching fresh styles, and leveraging AI heavily to produce at volume and quality. Thumbnails are the single biggest lever on a video's performance, so this is one of the most important roles on the team. What you'll do: Create the thumbnails for every upload across the portfolio — currently around 8 per day, scaling over time toward ~20 per day (at roughly 30 minutes each at the high end, the volume is very manageable). Originate new concepts — not just execute, but bring me fresh thumbnail ideas, styles, and formats. Execute the concepts I give you cleanly and fast. Research continuously — study what's working on YouTube, in our niches and beyond, and bring tested ideas to the table. Use AI heavily. Any AI tool you need to do this role well, I provide and pay for — no questions asked. You should already be comfortable using AI image tools as part of your workflow. What I'm looking for: Genuine creativity and a strong grasp of viewer psychology — you understand why a thumbnail gets the click, not just how to make it look nice. Willingness to learn and adapt — this is essential. You'll work across many niches and formats, some brand new to you. I'll hand you new niches and new styles regularly, and you need to research them, get them, and run with them. Adaptability matters more than knowing any one niche today. Proactive self-starter. Nobody will hand-hold you. If you see a better concept, you propose it. If a channel's thumbnails are underperforming, you flag it and fix it. Honest, reliable communication and consistency — you hit the daily volume and you're straight about where things stand. Pay — this is where it gets interesting: Base: USD 600 / month. On top of that, a heavy performance bonus tied to how your thumbnails perform (total views per video). Strong performers can double, triple, or quadruple their monthly pay. The upside is uncapped and it's directly in your control — better thumbnails, more views, more money. And you're not starting from zero. The portfolio already generates millions of views per month, so you can be earning bonuses from day one on channels that are already winning. Your job is to take what's already working and push it higher. What I provide: every AI tool, subscription, and resource the role needs — covered by me. You provide your own computer and internet.
