Thumbnail & Editorial Image Designer Needed for Newsletter

Summary

I’m looking for a talented thumbnail designer / graphic designer to help create a consistent visual style for my business newsletter. Each email will need one main hero thumbnail plus 3–4 additional supporting images based on the content inside the issue. The style I’m looking for is similar to Vox-style editorial explainer graphics: textured paper backgrounds, grayscale cutout photography, bold typography, yellow highlight blocks, hand-drawn arrows, charts, documents, collage elements, grid lines, halftone texture, and smart visual storytelling. The graphics should feel like a mix of a documentary explainer, investigative magazine cover, and scroll-stopping YouTube thumbnail. I will provide the newsletter content, topic, and general direction for each issue, but I’m looking for someone who can turn the written ideas into strong visual concepts. The main thumbnail should summarize the biggest story or idea in the email, while the supporting images should help break up the newsletter and make each section feel more premium, visual, and engaging. Topics will usually be around side hustles, business ideas, founder stories, trends, tools, money-making opportunities, startups, and niche markets. Beyond creating individual graphics, I’d also like this person to help develop a repeatable brand visual guideline for the newsletter over time. That means building a consistent design system around color, typography, composition, image treatment, textures, thumbnail layouts, supporting image styles, and reusable templates. The goal is to create a recognizable visual identity that can be used across the newsletter, website, social posts, and future content assets. The ideal person has strong experience with thumbnails, editorial graphics, collage-style design, or content visuals. You should understand visual hierarchy, typography, click-worthy composition, and how to make graphics feel smart but still attention-grabbing. I’m open to whatever tools you prefer, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, Canva, Midjourney, DALL-E, Firefly, or a mix of design and AI tools, as long as the final graphics look polished, consistent, and on-brand. This would start as a test project for one newsletter issue, which includes one main thumbnail and 3–4 supporting images. If it’s a good fit, this could become ongoing weekly work. When applying, please share examples of thumbnail, editorial, collage, newsletter, or social graphics you’ve created, your estimated price per issue, your turnaround time, and how you would approach building a consistent Vox-style visual guideline for the brand. See attached files as example images that I like.
