TouchGFX & STM32 Expert: Display Hardware Feasibility Study & Migration Assessment

We are looking for a TouchGFX and STM32 specialist to evaluate a hardware display migration for an existing project. Currently, our application is built using TouchGFX for a high-end Riverdi STM32 10.1” touchscreen (RVT101HVSNWC00-B). We need to transition to a more economical touchscreen solution without compromising core functionality. This is a preliminary feasibility study and consulting project. If successful, this will lead directly to a larger follow-up contract to execute the migration and implement the wireless communication architecture. Scope of Work • Compatibility Assessment: Evaluate the TSDHD Gen4 or Gen5 STM32 Smart LCD Display as a potential replacement. Review its hardware/software compatibility with our existing TouchGFX project structure and identify potential technical bottlenecks (e.g., memory constraints, frame-buffer handling, interface differences). • Alternative Recommendations: Propose 3 alternative, economically viable touchscreens (TouchGFX / STM32-compatible) that would serve as excellent fits for this project based on your past experience. • Deliverable (Written Report): Provide a concise report comparing the analyzed screens, ranking the best options for our specific use case, and outlining a risk assessment of potential difficulties we might face during code migration. • Consultation Call: Participate in a 15-minute video call to present the report, clarify your findings, and discuss the roadmap for the migration phase. Future Phase Preview (Follow-up Project) The subsequent phase of this project will involve: • Executing the project transfer to the selected hardware + some changes • Setting up robust communication (UART/SPI/I2C) between the display's STM32 and an ESP32. • Establishing wireless data transmission between that ESP32 and a secondary, remote ESP32. Required Experience & Skills: • Advanced TouchGFX Knowledge: Deep understanding of memory allocation, custom widgets, asset management, and performance optimization. • STM32 Hardware Expertise: Strong proficiency with STM32 microcontrollers, peripheral configuration (GPIO, I2C, UART, SPI, CAN), and display interfaces (LTDC, MIPI, etc.). • Display Integration: Proven track record of configuring display drivers, touch controllers, and external flash/RAM (FMC/QSPI). • Basic Wireless/IoT Knowledge: Familiarity with the Arduino IDE and ESP32 ecosystem to understand how the display will interact with our planned wireless communication link.
