IT Trainer Needed for Weekend Live Cohort Sessions (UK Time)

ENGAGEMENT: Ongoing, recurring weekend sessions ESTIMATED SCHEDULE: Saturday 10:00am-12:00pm and Sunday 2:00pm-4:00pm UK time, weekly, for 13 weeks per cohort PROJECT DESCRIPTION SmoothOps 365 runs a single, focused IT training course: the IT Career Programme. It takes healthcare professionals and career changers of any background from zero IT experience to job-ready for entry-level UK IT roles in 3 months, training weekends only so students can keep their current job while they study. We need a trainer to deliver our live weekend cohort sessions online (Microsoft Teams). This is real-time teaching to a group, not pre-recorded content, and sessions are saved permanently to each student's account, so we need someone who is genuinely good live, not just technically strong on paper. WHAT YOU WOULD TEACH (full 13-week curriculum, 26 sessions total) - IT support fundamentals, ITIL, and the service desk - Ticketing systems: ServiceNow and Jira - Hardware essentials, printers, and remote support tools - Windows 10/11 troubleshooting and administration - Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN - Active Directory: users, groups, OUs, password and lockout management - Group Policy basics - Security fundamentals: MFA, phishing, malware, incident response - Mobile device support and MDM basics - Customer service skills for IT support roles - Microsoft 365 Admin Centre, licensing, and admin roles - Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint administration - Microsoft Entra ID: identity, MFA, Conditional Access basics - Intune basics and cloud fundamentals (Azure Portal) - PowerShell fundamentals for support automation - CompTIA A+ exam preparation (current objectives: 220-1201 and 220-1202) - Interview preparation, CV workshop, and job search strategy in the final week REQUIRED SKILLS Technical: - Windows 10/11 administration and troubleshooting - Active Directory and Group Policy (hands-on experience, not just familiarity) - Core networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN - Microsoft 365 administration: Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, M365 Admin Centre - Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD): identity, MFA, Conditional Access - Basic Intune and Azure Portal navigation - PowerShell fundamentals - CompTIA A+ or equivalent real-world experience against current objectives is a strong plus Communication and delivery: - Confident live delivery to a group, on camera, in real time - Able to explain technical topics to complete beginners, clearly, without jargon, without condescension - Patient with repeated questions and a wide range of starting points, students come from healthcare, retail, hospitality and other non-IT backgrounds - Strong spoken and written English - Reliable and punctual to a fixed weekly weekend schedule, this is not flexible-hours freelance work, sessions run at a set time every week Other: - Prior experience training, teaching, or mentoring adult learners or career changers is a genuine advantage - Comfortable being recorded, sessions are saved permanently for students to rewatch HOW TO APPLY In your proposal, tell us: 1.
