UAT Tester - IoS & Android

We're building a patient-owned, cross-border health records platform with native iOS and Android apps that handle sensitive medical data, third-party wearable integrations, and document parsing across multiple locales. Quality isn't a nice-to-have here — a missed bug can mean a broken health record or a failed sync at the moment a patient needs it most. We're looking for a hands-on Mobile QA Tester who owns the quality of our apps end to end: from test planning and manual exploratory testing through beta distribution, regression suites, and release sign-off. You'll be the last line of defence before anything ships to TestFlight, Google Play, or production. What you'll do Design, write, and maintain test plans, test cases, and checklists for new features and releases across iOS and Android. Run manual functional, exploratory, regression, and edge-case testing across a matrix of devices, OS versions, and screen sizes. Manage beta testing programs through TestFlight (external testing) and Google Play (internal/closed/open testing), including tester onboarding and feedback triage. Test third-party integrations — wearable data sync (e.g. Oura, WHOOP, Garmin), authentication flows, and document upload/parsing — and verify data integrity across the full pipeline. Verify localization and internationalization across all supported locales (layout, formatting, translated strings, right-to-left where relevant). Test consent, sharing, and permission flows with extra rigor given the sensitivity of health data. Validate accessibility (VoiceOver, TalkBack, dynamic type, contrast) against WCAG-aligned standards. Write clear, reproducible bug reports with steps, expected vs. actual behaviour, logs, screenshots/recordings, and severity; verify fixes and run regression on resolved issues. Own release sign-off: confirm release-candidate builds meet acceptance criteria before submission to the App Store and Google Play. Partner with developers, designers, and product to clarify requirements early and catch issues before they reach QA. Help build out and maintain test automation over time (UI and integration tests) to reduce manual regression load. What we're looking for 2+ years in mobile QA / application testing, with proven hands-on experience testing both iOS and Android apps. Strong grasp of the full mobile testing lifecycle: test design, execution, defect tracking, and release verification. Familiarity with TestFlight and Google Play Console beta/release workflows. Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g. Jira, Linear, TestRail, or similar). Solid understanding of REST APIs and the ability to test them (e.g. Postman) and inspect network traffic and logs. Sharp eye for detail, edge cases, and inconsistencies — and the persistence to reproduce intermittent bugs. Clear written communication; able to write bug reports a developer can act on without follow-up. Comfortable working in a fast-moving, pre-launch startup environment where priorities shift. Nice to have Experience testing in a regulated or healthtech/fintech environment (HIPAA, GDPR, PDPA, or similar data-protection regimes). Experience testing wearable, IoT, or device-integration flows. Hands-on mobile test automation (XCUITest, Espresso, Appium, Maestro, or Detox). Localization/internationalization testing experience across multiple languages. Familiarity with React Native or other cross-platform frameworks.
