Summary

Hello, I am a solo developer creating a 4-player online comedy fighting game in Unreal Engine 5.8. I am looking for a Level Designer / Environment Artist to design and build four different medium-sized playable multiplayer maps. About the game: Four players enter the same map with different objectives. Players can fight each other, chase one another, steal important items, protect objectives, escape, and interfere with the other players. The gameplay is intended to feel chaotic, funny, and replayable. This is not a serious competitive fighting game. The maps should create entertaining situations, funny chases, fights around obstacles, alternative escape routes, and competition over valuable items. What I need: I need four complete medium-sized multiplayer maps. I am not looking for four small rooms, tiny arenas, empty buildings, or architectural visualization scenes. Each map should feel like a complete playable location with multiple connected rooms or zones, obstacles, different routes, and enough space for four players to run, fight, chase, steal items, and escape. The maps do not have to be hotels, hospitals, or specific real-world buildings. I am open to creative ideas as long as each map has its own personality and is fun to play. Possible map themes could include: - A large mansion - A colorful entertainment building - A restaurant or shopping area - An office, school, club, warehouse, studio, or another creative indoor location These are only examples. I would like the designer to suggest suitable map ideas. Map requirements: - Four different medium-sized playable maps - Approximately 6–10 distinct rooms, areas, or gameplay zones per map - Each map must feel like a complete multiplayer level, not a single room - A mixture of open fighting spaces, medium-sized rooms, and tighter chase routes - Multiple routes between important areas - Alternative paths for escaping and flanking other players - Avoid excessive dead ends - Enough space for a third-person camera - Suitable for four players moving and fighting at the same time - Four separate and reasonable player spawn areas - Several suitable locations for objectives and valuable stealable items - Environmental obstacles such as furniture, counters, tables, shelves, boxes, pillars, machinery, decorations, or other suitable objects - Some vertical gameplay where suitable, such as stairs, balconies, platforms, rooftops, or a second floor - Clear visual differences between the main areas so players can understand where they are - Correct collision - Reasonable performance for an online multiplayer game - The maps should support several minutes of fighting, chasing, and exploration without feeling empty or unnecessarily huge Visual style: - Stylized or slightly cartoony - Colorful, clean, and readable - Each map should have its own visual identity - The environments should have personality and memorable areas - Photorealistic graphics are not required - The style should fit a funny multiplayer game with stylized human characters Assets: - Existing Unreal Engine or Fab assets may be used - Free or affordable assets are preferred - I may provide approved assets when needed - No expensive paid assets may be used without my approval - No custom 3D modeling is required unless it is included within the agreed price - Reusing some suitable assets between maps is acceptable, but the four maps must still feel visually and structurally different - All assets used must legally allow use in a commercial game Scope of work: - Level design - Greybox layout - Environment arrangement - Placement of rooms, walls, doors, stairs, obstacles, furniture, and decorations - Collision setup - Basic lighting - Basic optimization - Organized Unreal Engine levels and folders Not required: - Combat programming - Multiplayer programming - Objective programming - Door interaction programming - Character programming - Animation work - UI work - Sound design I will handle all gameplay programming myself. Workflow: 1. Suggest four suitable map themes and provide simple top-down layout ideas. 2. Build playable greybox versions for approval. 3. Adjust the layouts based on gameplay feedback. 4. Build the final environments using approved assets. 5. Add collision, basic lighting, organization, and reasonable optimization. 6. Deliver the completed playable maps inside Unreal Engine. Deliverables: - Four medium-sized playable Unreal Engine maps - Playable .umap files - All required assets included correctly - No missing references - Correct collision - Organized Content Browser folders - Organized World Outliner folders - Clear actor and asset naming - Screenshots or a short video showing each completed map - Confirmation that all used assets are legally usable in a commercial game Budget: I am an independent solo developer, not a studio with a large production budget. I am looking for a fair and reasonable fixed-price offer for all four maps. Using existing approved assets is completely acceptable and preferred over creating everything from scratch. Please include in your proposal: - Your total fixed price for all four maps - Your price breakdown per map - What visual quality is included in your price - Whether asset costs are included or separate - Your estimated delivery time - The number of revisions included - Examples of Unreal Engine levels or environments you personally created - Your suggested themes for the four maps - Whether you will use existing assets, custom assets, or a combination - Confirmation that you can deliver the Unreal Engine project files and playable maps - Confirmation that the delivered work can legally be used in a commercial game Important: Please do not apply if your offer only covers four small rooms, four tiny arenas, or architectural renders. I need four complete medium-sized multiplayer maps designed specifically around fighting, chasing, stealing, escaping, and four-player gameplay. I would prefer to begin with one paid greybox map as the first milestone. If the layout and communication are good, we will continue with the remaining three maps.
