We are seeking a qualified and experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) to review, evaluate, and provide expert feedback on our course materials. Job Description We are looking for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Advanced Social and Community Services with professional, academic, or teaching experience in social services, community development, case management, or related fields. The SME will review and evaluate advanced-level online course content focused on social and community service practices, ensuring accuracy, depth, and alignment with industry standards and ethical frameworks. The role primarily involves content review, validation, and quality assurance. Responsibilities - Review and evaluate advanced-level course materials related to Social and Community Services, including lessons, case studies, activities, and assessments covering topics such as: - Advanced case management and client advocacy - Community development and capacity-building strategies - Social policy, systems, and program implementation - Crisis intervention and trauma-informed care - Ethical decision-making and professional boundaries - Collaboration with community organizations and stakeholders - Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) by ensuring content accuracy, relevance, and alignment with U.S. social and community services standards and best practices. - Validate that learning objectives, assessments, and instructional strategies are appropriate for advanced learners and workforce preparation. - Provide clear, detailed, and actionable feedback to instructional designers and content developers. - Ensure course content aligns with ethical guidelines, cultural competence standards, and accessibility requirements. - Collaborate with instructional designers, project managers, and educators to support continuous course improvement. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s or master’s degree in social work, Human Services, Community Development, Sociology, Counseling, or a related field. - 4+ years of professional experience in social services, community services, case management, or related advanced practice areas. - Experience teaching, training, or reviewing educational content at the post-secondary or workforce training level. - Strong knowledge of advanced social service practices, community-based programs, and social systems. - Excellent attention to detail and ability to provide structured, constructive feedback. - Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience working with digital or online course content. Preferred Skills: - Experience reviewing or developing curriculum for advanced social or community services courses. - Familiarity with instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies. - Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) or online content review tools. - Knowledge of U.S. social policies, community resources, and service delivery frameworks.
