Mechanical Trailer Wheel-End Hub System (US & Canada) Project Overview I am seeking a USPTO-registered Patent Attorney with demonstrated experience in mechanical engineering, automotive systems, trailer components, bearings, rotating machinery, or industrial machinery to assist with protecting a new mechanical invention. The invention relates to a new trailer wheel-end hub architecture intended for trailer axle capacities ranging approximately from 2,000 lb to 12,000 lb. The technical development has been completed and I have already prepared: Comprehensive invention disclosure Architecture-level description Conceptual engineering drawings Multiple embodiments I am looking for an experienced practitioner to professionally prepare and file the initial patent application. Objective My objective is to establish an early patent priority through a professionally drafted patent application that provides a strong foundation for future patent protection in both the United States and Canada. The application should be drafted broadly enough to protect the underlying architecture and its reasonable variations while providing appropriate support for future non-provisional applications. Scope of Services Please provide a fixed-fee quotation covering the complete professional services required to achieve the above objective. The proposed scope should include, as appropriate: 1. Technical Review Review the complete invention disclosure package. Review the conceptual drawings. Identify any missing technical information required before filing. Recommend any additional embodiments or improvements that would strengthen the application. 2. Preliminary Prior-Art Assessment High-level review of the closest known prior art. Preliminary comments regarding novelty and obviousness. Identification of any significant prior-art references that may influence drafting strategy. (A formal patentability opinion is not required.) 3. Filing Strategy Recommend the most appropriate filing strategy considering patent protection in both the United States and Canada. 4. Patent Drafting Prepare a professionally drafted patent application suitable for establishing an early priority date, including appropriate technical descriptions and support for future patent prosecution. 5. Review & Filing Review the draft application with me. Incorporate reasonable revisions. File the initial patent application. Provide confirmation of filing together with the official filing receipt. 6. Post-Filing Guidance Please include brief guidance( written is preferred) regarding: Appropriate handling of confidential disclosures after filing. Best practices when working with prototype manufacturers, suppliers, engineering consultants, and prospective customers. Recommended approach for handling design improvements or additional inventive features identified during prototype development and testing. Important filing deadlines and recommended actions during the 12-month priority period. Information Requested Please include the following information in your proposal: USPTO Registration Number. Whether you are also registered before CIPO or regularly handle Canadian patent filings. Educational background. Years of patent practice. Experience with: Mechanical Engineering Automotive Components Trailer Systems Bearings Wheel-End Assemblies Industrial Machinery Confirmation that you will personally perform the drafting and filing. Estimated timeline. Total fixed professional fee. Government filing fees shown separately. Any exclusions from your quotation. Selection Criteria Selection will be based primarily on: Relevant technical experience. Mechanical/automotive patent experience. Proposed approach. Overall value. Communication. Timeline. Price alone will not determine the selection. Confidentiality At this stage, confidential technical information will not be shared. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an introductory discussion. The complete disclosure package will be provided only after selection and execution of an appropriate engagement agreement and confidentiality arrangement.
