Unify 87 golf illustrations into one consistent vintage line-art style (B&W, print-ready)
Worldwide
I'm publishing a 370-page golf instruction book (6×9", black-and-white interior, Amazon KDP) and need an image specialist to bring 87 existing illustrations into one perfectly consistent style. What I have: 87 AI-generated instructional illustrations of golfers (swing positions, drills, sequences), PNG, ~1350×2000px. The style target is classic mid-century instructional engraving — think the crosshatched pen-and-ink look of 1950s golf books (Anthony Ravielli's era). The problem: they were generated in batches, so they drift — background tints vary (pink/cream/white), clothing renders at different darknesses (pants especially), line weight is inconsistent, and several have obvious AI tells (mangled grips/hands, club distortions, melted logos, anatomy glitches). What I need — one consistent set: Identical background treatment across all 87 — pure white (or transparent), no tint Consistent tonal range — same clothing values, same line weight/density plate to plate, so any two images can sit on facing pages and look like one artist drew them AI-artifact cleanup — fix or redraw broken hands, grips, club shafts/heads, faces, and any "melted" details; nothing in the final set should read as AI-generated True black-and-white line art — must print cleanly on a B&W toner press: solid blacks, crosshatch/stipple for shading, no soft gray gradients below ~10% Some images may work better re-rendered from my source photos into the style rather than repaired — tell me your approach; I have the source photos available Deliverables: 87 PNG files, ≥1400px on the short side (300 DPI at ~4.5" print width), grayscale or B&W, named per my numbering list (provided). Full commercial rights / work-for-hire — these print in a commercial book. Your workflow is your business — hand-drawn, Photoshop, a trained model/LoRA, ControlNet img2img, or hybrid. I care about the output: consistency, print-cleanliness, and zero AI tells. If you've built a style-transfer pipeline that can lock a look across a large batch, you're exactly who I'm looking for. Process & timeline — fast turnaround required: Pilot: I send 3 representative images (one clean, one with tint/tone drift, one with bad AI artifacts). You return them unified within 24 hours. Paid, and used to award the full batch. Full batch: next-day delivery — all 87 within 24–48 hours of award. If you have a working pipeline, this is a short session of work; that's exactly who this post is for. A revision pass on up to 10 flagged images follows within 48 hours of my review. If your process is manual and needs longer, quote your real timeline honestly — I may still consider it for a smaller artifact-repair-only scope. Future volumes — quote two options. This is Volume One of a series; roughly 200 more images are coming. In your proposal, price BOTH: Option A — Service: the 87 now, plus a standing per-image rate for future batches. Option B — Service + tool handover: the 87 now, PLUS delivery of your reusable pipeline so we can run future batches ourselves — e.g., trained style model/LoRA file, workflow file (ComfyUI/A1111 or equivalent), prompt/settings recipe, and a 30-minute handoff walkthrough. Licensed for our unlimited commercial use. Quote this as a separate line item. If your workflow is manual (hand retouching), Option A only is fine — say so. To apply, please include: 2–3 samples of B&W line-art / engraving-style work (golf or sports a plus, not required) One sentence on your batch-consistency method (how do you keep image #71 matching image #4?) Your prices: pilot · full 87 · future per-image rate (Option A) · tool handover (Option B) Start your proposal with the word "CROSSHATCH" so I know you read this Screening questions (Upwork fields) Describe your process for enforcing a single style across 80+ images. Have you prepared line art for print-on-demand (KDP/IngramSpark)? What resolution/format do you deliver? Can you fix AI-generated anatomy errors (hands, grips) by hand? You can see our early attempts have and what we are looking for. But the main thing is we are finding that some images have different-looking features, maybe dark pants versus light pants, or the shoes or the club look a little different. There's the poor consistency we are hoping to change.
