Unity Game Designer/Studio to Make an Arcade Game Genuinely Addictive

Posted 3 days ago

Summary

We have a physical-input arcade sports game (players control an on-screen character through real-world motion) with a solid existing user base. Players love the concept, but the current game is a single endless-runner-style course that gets repetitive. We need to rebuild and expand it into something players come back to daily. We're looking for a game developer or small studio with a real feel for fun and retention. Note: the physical input/controls are handled separately — you'll build the game on top of a clean input stream. Your job is to make the game itself great. What we need New content and variety — right now there's essentially one course. We need multiple levels, themes, environments, and obstacles that stay fresh over months of play. "Just one more try" gameplay — instant restart, near-miss tension, short satisfying runs, the loop that makes a game hard to put down. Progression and retention systems — personal-best tracking, daily/weekly challenges, streaks, unlockable content, character customization, and a sense of getting better over time. Game feel / "juice" — satisfying feedback, impact, sound, and polish that make each moment feel great. It should feel alive. Forgiving difficulty — "one mistake and you're out" kills the fun. We want a health/lives system and a difficulty curve that keeps players in flow. Character customization — players want to change how their character looks, especially when competing against each other. Ideal background Strong Unity experience shipping polished, released games A genuine track record of fun, addictive gameplay — casual/mobile/arcade games with strong retention are ideal Understanding of game-feel, juice, and retention loops Bonus: sports games, kids' games, or endless-runner/arcade experience We care more about a portfolio of games that are fun to play than resume length
