Upholstered Furniture Technologist: Technical Documentation & 3D Part-time | Remote | Ongoing cooperation We are a UK and European bespoke furniture manufacturer looking for an experienced Upholstered Furniture Technologist to support our sales and production teams on a part-time basis. You must have a strong practical understanding of how upholstered beds, headboards, sofas and related furniture are constructed, not simply experience producing attractive 3D visuals. Responsibilities * Create accurate production-ready technical drawings and specifications. * Develop 3D models and detailed construction sketches. * Translate client requirements and sales briefs into practical manufacturing documentation. * Specify dimensions, materials, components, upholstery details and assembly methods. * Identify technical issues before an order enters production. * Adapt existing models to bespoke dimensions and customer requirements. * Collaborate closely with our sales, technical and production teams in the UK and Europe. * Revise documentation promptly following feedback from the workshop. Requirements * Proven experience in upholstered furniture technology, engineering or product development. * Thorough understanding of frames, upholstery, foam, fabrics, mechanisms, fixings and furniture assembly. * Strong experience producing technical documentation for actual manufacturing. * Proficiency in relevant CAD and 3D-modelling software. * Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail. * Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with salespeople and production specialists. * Good written and spoken English (Russian or Ukrainian would be a plus) * Reliable availability and the ability to meet agreed deadlines. Important This is not purely a 3D-visualisation or interior-design role. Applicants must understand the complete technological and manufacturing process behind upholstered furniture.
