Upwork Job Posting: Experienced InDesign & KDP Publishing Specialist Required (Two Book Project)

I am seeking a highly experienced book production and publishing professional to complete the final formatting, production, and Amazon KDP publication of two books. Please only apply if you have extensive experience with Adobe InDesign and a proven track record successfully publishing books through Amazon KDP. Project Overview I have two books that require final production work: Book 1 Currently built in Adobe InDesign Requires minor (literally about five edits) final formatting refinements and adjustments Layout, content, images, and design are substantially complete Uploaded successfully to AMAZON KDP and eBook Format for Kindle Book 2 Currently built in Adobe Illustrator Must be professionally recreated and reformatted from scratch in Adobe InDesign All text, artwork, images, fonts, and layout references will be supplied The Illustrator version or PDF with comments will serve as the design and formatting guide Both book covers have already been completed and are not part of this project. Deliverables Required For each book, I require: Full-colour print edition for Amazon KDP Black-and-white print edition for Amazon KDP Kindle eBook version fully formatted and optimised for Amazon Kindle devices This means a total of: 2 Colour Print Books 2 Black & White Print Books 2 Kindle eBook Versions All files must meet Amazon KDP specifications and be ready for publication. Scope of Work The successful applicant will: Review and refine the existing InDesign book Rebuild the Illustrator book in Adobe InDesign Ensure professional typography, spacing, image placement, page consistency, and layout quality Prepare colour and black-and-white print versions of both books Create Kindle-compatible eBook versions of both books Conduct quality control checks across all versions Prepare all final files to Amazon KDP specifications Assist with uploading and publishing the books through Amazon KDP Resolve any formatting or technical issues identified during KDP review Deliver all source files, packaged InDesign files, linked assets, fonts (where permitted), and final PDFs/eBook files Essential Requirements Only apply if you have: Advanced Adobe InDesign expertise Strong Adobe Illustrator skills Extensive experience formatting books for Amazon KDP Experience producing both print and Kindle eBook editions Strong understanding of KDP requirements, margins, bleed, typography, image optimisation, and publishing workflows Experience troubleshooting KDP upload and approval issues Excellent attention to detail Application Requirements Please provide: Examples of books you have formatted and successfully published through Amazon KDP Examples of both print and Kindle projects Confirmation of your experience with InDesign book production Details of your experience managing KDP uploads and approvals Milestone Structure This project includes milestone payments. Approximately one-third of the total project budget will be tied to the successful completion of the final stage of the project, being the successful preparation, upload, approval, and publication of all required book versions through Amazon KDP. The objective is not simply creating files. The objective is successfully publishing all editions on Amazon KDP. Ideal Candidate I am looking for a genuine publishing specialist who understands the complete process from professional book layout and production through to successful Amazon publication. This project is not suitable for general graphic designers with limited book publishing experience.
