Using Social Media for Book Marketing
Worldwide
Book Marketing Social Media Specialist (Author Platform - Fiction + Nonfiction) ABOUT THE ROLE We're a social media agency looking for someone who genuinely knows book marketing, not general social media, to run an author campaign across LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram. The author has two books. One is a political thriller. One is a nonfiction account of ordinary people fighting a system built to wear them down: think bad-faith insurance, consumer rights, legal injustice. Different genres, same theme - people standing up to powerful institutions. Your job is to build one author presence (not separate book accounts) and grow the right readers for both. This is an ongoing monthly retainer. We run multiple client accounts, so there's room to grow if it's a good fit. THE READERS WE'RE TRYING TO REACH - Political thriller and civic fiction readers (corruption, rebellion, government overreach, conspiracy, citizens taking a stand) - Consumer-rights and legal-injustice readers (insurance abuse, corporate misconduct, accountability, ordinary people vs big institutions) - A credibility audience: lawyers, advocates, journalists, nonprofit and policy people, and podcast hosts who can amplify WHAT YOU'D DO EACH MONTH - Own the content calendar across LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram - Write post copy that sounds like the author, not a brochure - Cut an existing book trailer into short-form clips (Reels now, TikTok/X if we add them) - Create or direct simple graphics and carousels (quote cards, explainers) - Set up and run Instagram Stories and Highlights - Schedule everything and handle light community engagement (comments, relevant groups, no spam) - Send a monthly report and tell us what to change next WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - Real book-marketing or author-platform experience. Show us accounts or campaigns you've actually run - Confident across LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram organic - Short-form video editing - turning long footage into clips that actually get watched - Copywriting that carries a voice - You understand reader funnels: awareness, reviews, launch and gift-season timing - Reliable, self-managing, good with a monthly rhythm NICE TO HAVE - Experience with both fiction and nonfiction - Familiarity with thriller, political, or legal / true-crime adjacent audiences - TikTok and X - Canva or similar for quick graphics TO APPLY Please don't send a generic pitch. Tell me: 1. One author or book account you've grown, and what actually moved the numbers 2. How you'd approach one author with two very different books 3. Your monthly rate or retainer Skip the "passionate social media guru" intro. Show me the books.
