Vector Illustrator for Custom Family Tree

I am looking for an experienced vector illustrator to create a premium, fully editable and flexible Family Tree / Tree of Life template. This will be used as the base design for a commercial family tree product. I need a tree that I can later customize myself for different families, starting from great-grandparents and going down/up through grandparents, parents, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The most important part of this project is not only the beauty of the tree, but also the structure and flexibility. MAIN IDEA The central trunk represents the main person or couple ordering the family tree. From this central trunk, the family branches should develop naturally. The tree must allow me to build different family structures, for example: - one couple with 2 children - one couple with 4 children - one couple with 6 children - only one child having children - two children having children and the others not - grandchildren growing only from the correct parent branch - great-grandchildren growing only from the correct grandchild branch - one person instead of a couple in the center - a couple in the center with ancestors above/below depending on the layout The tree must be designed so I can adapt it myself later without destroying the design. WHAT I NEED FROM THE ILLUSTRATOR I need an original vector tree design, not a flat image. The file must be fully editable. I must be able to: 1. Add new branches. 2. Remove branches. 3. Duplicate branch elements. 4. Move branches without breaking the design. 5. Extend a branch if a child has children. 6. Leave a branch shorter if that child has no children. 7. Add or remove leaves/decorative elements. 8. Place portraits, names and dates near the correct branches. 9. Create different family layouts from the same base tree. 10. Use the same template for many clients. FAMILY STRUCTURE LOGIC The tree should be built in a logical genealogical way. Central trunk: - the person or couple ordering the artwork. First generation from the trunk: - their children. Second generation: - grandchildren. - These branches should grow only from the branch of the correct child. Third generation: - great-grandchildren. - These branches should grow only from the branch of the correct grandchild. Ancestor area: - I also need space and structure for parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. - This can be represented through the roots, lower trunk, upper trunk, or another elegant solution proposed by the illustrator. - The design should make it possible to show older generations such as parents, grandparents and great-grandparents without confusing them with descendants. Very important: If a family has 4 children, but only 2 of them have children, the grandchildren branches must appear only from those 2 children. The other 2 branches should remain visually complete and beautiful, without looking empty or unfinished. The same rule applies to great-grandchildren. MODULAR BRANCH SYSTEM The tree must be created as a modular vector system. I need several branch modules, for example: - short branch - medium branch - long branch - left branch - right branch - branch with 2 smaller branches - branch with 3 smaller branches - curved extension branch - small decorative ending branch - leaves/decorative elements These modules should match the main tree style, so I can reuse them and combine them later. The branches should connect naturally. I do not want a tree that only works for one exact family structure. I want a flexible template system. STYLE The style should be premium, elegant and timeless. Possible inspiration: - Tree of Life - luxury family tree - botanical illustration - vintage engraving - elegant hand-drawn vector art - decorative wall art - premium genealogy poster The artwork should not look childish, cartoonish or like clipart. It should look suitable for a high-quality printed family poster. VECTOR REQUIREMENTS The final artwork must be delivered in: - Adobe Illustrator AI - SVG - EPS - PDF preview - PNG preview The vector file must have organized layers. Suggested layer structure: 1. Roots 2. Trunk 3. Main branches 4. Secondary branches 5. Small branch modules 6. Leaves 7. Decorative elements 8. Portrait placeholders 9. Text placeholders 10. Background elements All elements must be editable. Branches must not be merged into one impossible-to-edit shape. Please do not deliver only a raster image. No AI-generated final artwork. No copied stock vector unless it is clearly licensed and discussed before. PORTRAIT AND TEXT PLACEMENT The tree must allow space for family portraits, names, birth years and optional short text. Portraits may be added later by me. The illustrator can include example portrait placeholders, but they must be editable and removable. I need the composition to work with portrait circles or oval frames. The final template should allow me to place portraits in a clean, balanced way. BACKGROUND I am interested in a premium look, possibly with: - light elegant background - gold decorative accents - vintage paper texture - luxury ornamental details But the main tree itself must remain editable vector. If textures are used, they should be separated from the main vector tree. WORKFLOW Before creating the final artwork, I need a black and white structural sketch. The first sketch must show the branching logic. I want to approve the structure before the final decorative illustration begins. The workflow should be: Step 1: Simple structural sketch of the tree and branch system. Step 2: Revision of the structure if needed. Step 3: Final detailed vector illustration. Step 4: Delivery of editable files with organized layers. IMPORTANT QUESTIONS FOR THE ILLUSTRATOR Please answer these questions in your proposal: 1. How would you make the tree flexible for families with different numbers of children? 2. How would you design the branches so grandchildren grow only from the correct child branch? 3. Can you create modular branch elements that I can reuse later? 4. Can you deliver fully editable AI, SVG and EPS files? 5. Can you organize all elements in clear layers? 6. Do you have experience with botanical, ornamental or premium vector illustration? FINAL GOAL The final result must be a premium family tree template that I can use for many clients. This is not just a beautiful tree illustration. This is a customizable commercial template system. Reference Images I have attached two reference images to help explain the concept and the family structure I am looking for. These images are NOT meant to be copied. They are provided only to demonstrate: * the overall genealogy logic; * how ancestors and descendants are connected; * how different generations should be organized; * how the tree can adapt to different family structures; * the general composition of the artwork. Please use them only as a visual reference to understand my idea. I do NOT expect the final artwork to look exactly like these examples. What Is Most Important The visual style is flexible. The family structure and flexibility are the most important parts of this project. The tree should work for many different family situations. For example: * 2 children * 3 children * 5 children * 8 children Some children may have children. Some may not. Some grandchildren may have children. Some may not. The tree should always remain balanced and aesthetically pleasing regardless of the family structure. Final Goal My goal is to create a premium product that can be customized for hundreds of different families. Every customer will have a unique family structure, so the template must be flexible enough to accommodate many different scenarios while maintaining the same elegant appearance. Please don’t think of this as a single family tree illustration. Think of it as designing the “architecture” of a family tree system. The beauty of the illustration is important, but the ability to adapt it to many different family structures is even more important. I am looking for someone who can combine artistic quality with intelligent structural design.
