Vectorworks ConnectCAD Template & Standards Development for AV Integration
Worldwide
We are an established audiovisual integration firm seeking an experienced Vectorworks professional to help develop a comprehensive Vectorworks ConnectCAD standards package that will serve as the foundation for future engineering drawings and project documentation. This is not simply a title block design project. We are looking to create a professional AV integration drawing environment that standardizes engineering workflows, improves consistency across projects, and reduces drafting time. Experience with AV system design, low-voltage systems, telecommunications, broadcast, theatrical, or related engineering disciplines is strongly preferred. The project includes development of a master Vectorworks template with standardized sheet layers, design layers, classes, saved views, viewport organization, and drawing standards. Our standard drawing size is Architectural D (24” x 36”). We would like professionally designed title blocks and sheet layouts for cover sheets, drawing indexes, general notes, symbols and legends, floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, signal flow diagrams, block diagrams, rack elevations, details sheets, and schedules. We are also looking to develop a reusable library of common AV and low-voltage details such as XLR wiring diagrams, DMX wiring, CAT6 terminations, fiber optic details, common power connections, rack details, and other engineering reference materials that can be reused across projects. One of the primary goals of this project is to establish an efficient engineering workflow within Vectorworks. We are particularly interested in a viewport-based workflow where engineering content is created within organized design-layer workspaces and published to drawing sheets. If you have experience creating drafting standards or engineering workflows for AV integration firms, consultants, or engineering companies, please highlight that experience in your proposal. Deliverables should include a master Vectorworks template, title block package, reusable detail library, example project demonstrating the workflow, documentation outlining standards and best practices, and one revision cycle following initial delivery. When applying, please provide examples of Vectorworks templates or standards packages you have developed, examples of AV, low-voltage, broadcast, theatrical, or engineering drawings, your recommended approach for building a scalable Vectorworks standards package, and an estimated timeline and budget. We are looking for someone who understands how professional AV integrators build and maintain drawing packages—not simply a CAD technician. Experience with rack elevations, signal flow diagrams, system schematics, construction documentation, and engineering standards is highly desirable.
