Summary

We are seeking an experienced VOI Manager to lead our Verification of Insurance team supporting 30+ dental locations. This role will oversee approximately 26 team members, including 3 direct-report supervisors/team leads, and will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely insurance verification processes that support practice operations and revenue cycle performance. The ideal candidate is an Open Dental expert with extensive dental VOI experience, strong people leadership skills, and a proven track record of managing large-scale operational and cross-functional projects. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Operations * Lead and develop a team of approximately 26 VOI specialists through 3 direct-report supervisors/team leads. * Establish performance metrics, quality standards, and productivity benchmarks. * Monitor daily operations to ensure timely and accurate insurance verification. * Create and maintain SOPs, workflows, and training programs. * Drive accountability through regular coaching, performance reviews, and development plans. Revenue Cycle & Insurance Verification * Oversee insurance verification processes for 30+ dental locations. * Ensure accurate benefit breakdowns, eligibility verification, frequency limitations, and pre-treatment coverage determinations. * Partner with scheduling, treatment coordination, billing, and collections teams to optimize patient and payer workflows. * Identify trends impacting reimbursement, treatment acceptance, and patient experience. Project Management * Lead strategic initiatives related to VOI workflow optimization, automation, staffing, and system improvements. * Manage cross-functional projects involving operations, IT, practice leadership, and RCM teams. * Develop project plans, timelines, milestones, and success metrics. * Drive implementation of process improvement initiatives and monitor outcomes. Systems & Reporting *Serve as the subject matter expert for Open Dental insurance workflows. *Develop and analyze operational reports, KPIs, and dashboards. *Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, turnaround time, and team utilization. * Support system implementations, upgrades, and integrations impacting insurance verification processes. Qualifications Required * 5+ years of dental revenue cycle management experience. * 3+ years of leadership experience managing managers, supervisors, or team leads. * Deep expertise in dental insurance verification and benefits analysis. * Advanced proficiency with Open Dental. * Experience managing teams supporting multiple locations (preferably 20+ sites). * Demonstrated project management experience leading operational improvement initiatives. *Strong analytical, reporting, and process improvement skills. * Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Preferred * Experience supporting DSOs or multi-location dental organizations. * Asana Experience * Experience implementing automation or workflow optimization tools. & Knowledge of PPO, Medicaid, and specialty dental insurance workflows.
