2D Video Animation for TV commercials

Retro Animator Wanted — Old-School Style (Ongoing Potential) Overview We produce advertising for several clients and have two 30-second animated commercial projects in the same vintage cartoon style. If one animator can help with 2 separate clients, that would be lovely, but not necessary. Both projects originate from existing radio ad characters and need original visual designs built around established voices. Style Reference Classic Hanna-Barbera / UPA / early Jay Ward era — think Bert & Harry Piel beer commercials and the wide-eyed character work from Rocky & Bullwinkle / Sherman & Peabody. Limited animation (economical movement, not full frame-by-frame), simple expressive character design, flat color, warm nostalgic palette. Not looking for modern motion graphics, 3D, or explainer-video polish — the vintage look is the whole point. Project 1: Tuck & Howell (Plumbing/Heating/Air) Two original characters: Mr. Tuck and Mr. Howell, based on existing radio voice recordings Full character design + model sheets 30-second animated spot, color palette consistent with brand logo (teal/orange/navy) Budget: $2,500–$4,000 fixed Project 2: Amazing Morrow Two characters: Mr. Morrow (existing branded mascot — must stay on-model with current logo art, not redesigned from scratch) and "fella" (new character, wide-eyed kid design in the Sherman & Peabody vein) Full character design for "fella," on-model animation design for Mr. Morrow 30-second animated spot, or a live-action/animation hybrid — format to be finalized with client Budget: $2,500–$4,000 fixed (adjusted depending on final hybrid vs. full-animation format) What to Include in Your Proposal Portfolio examples of retro/limited-style 2D character animation — this matters more than a general motion graphics reel Whether you design and animate solo or work with a collaborator/team Availability for a second project in the following weeks, if the first goes well Estimated timeline and revision rounds included per project To Apply Send your portfolio and a short note on your experience with this style.
