Video Editor (High-Retention Celebrity Niche)

We are looking for an experienced, creative, and highly motivated Video Editor to join our team for a fast-growing YouTube channel focused on the celebrity niche. We aren't looking for someone who just cuts footage together—we need a visual storyteller who deeply understands pacing, retention mastery, and how to hook a viewer within the first few seconds and keep them glued to the screen for the entire video. This is a freelance position for an individual editor who is ready to treat this channel like a partnership, not just another gig. If you have the skills to elevate our visual style and consistently deliver top-tier edits, we want you on our team. Details ● Pay: $30 USD per video (Performance-based bonus structures to be discussed during the interview process). ● Frequency / Volume: 7 videos per week. ● Turnaround Time: Strict 24-hour turnaround per video. ● Type of Content: ~15-minute high-retention documentaries and deep dives in the celebrity niche. (Channel references and visual styles will be shared directly with shortlisted candidates during the interview). ● Team Structure: You will collaborate closely with the channel owner and scripting team to bring each story to life visually. Key Responsibilities ● Craft highly engaging, well-paced edits for a 15-minute video format. ● Master the art of the "visual hook"—utilizing transitions, sound design, graphics, and effects to maximize Average View Duration (AVD). ● Maintain clear, transparent, and ultra-fast communication regarding tight daily deadlines. ● Implement creative feedback from the team while being able to explain and justify your own stylistic choices. ● Consistently deliver clean, professional-grade exports on a strict daily schedule. Requirements & Professional Skills ● Software Proficiency: High skill level in Adobe Premiere Pro or equivalent professional editing software. ● Retention Mastery: A deep understanding of YouTube pacing, visual engagement strategies, and audience psychological triggers (Negative Urgency, dynamic scaling, pattern interrupts). ● Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing clean pacing, excellent sound design, and sharp visual storytelling. (Only portfolios are required; no free custom samples will be asked of you). ● Workflow: Must be highly self-motivated, organized, and capable of handling a demanding 24-hour turnaround schedule independently.
