Video Editor — Long-Form Sewing Tutorial Class
Worldwide
We're a sewing pattern and education brand and we're looking for an experienced video editor to take on a substantial project: editing a complete technique-focused sewing class totaling 4-5 hours of finished content. If it's a great fit, this becomes an ongoing relationship — we produce two to three classes per year. The project We're filming a full sewing technique class in our own studio. The finished class will include a number of lessons ranging from 5-10 minutes each, with a total runtime of 4-5 hours. You'll be working from roughly 20 hours of raw multi-camera footage — we shoot three streams simultaneously (talking head, overhead, and close-up sewing machine) and will provide a preliminary rough cut with bad takes already removed. Your job is to take that material and craft it into polished, well-paced final lessons that match our existing house style. What you'll be doing - Cutting between three camera angles across talking head, overhead, and close-up sewing footage - Pacing lessons so they move efficiently — using strategic cuts and speed ramps to compress repetitive action without losing instructional clarity - Color grading and audio mixing to a professional standard Incorporating on-screen text and other adjustments based on notes from our video production coordinator - Learning and consistently applying our established editing style (examples provided) Who you'll work with You'll collaborate with our video production coordinator, who reviews first drafts and provides revision notes, and our videographer, who will brief you on house style and technical requirements. Files are shared via Lucid Link and edited using Adobe Premiere Team Projects What we're looking for - Proven experience editing long-form tutorial or educational video — this is the core requirement - The patience and attention to detail that multi-hour instructional content demands - Strong pacing instincts: knowing when to cut, when to speed up, and when to let a step breathe - Solid color grading and sound editing skills - Ability to match an established visual style - Required software: Adobe Premiere - Experience with craft, DIY, or instructional content is a plus To apply Include portfolio samples of long-form tutorial or educational edits. Please speak to your experience with projects of this length and complexity — and how you would approach pacing decisions in instructional content.
