About the role We are looking for a Video Editor based in Malaysia to join our creative agency specialising in short-form video, UGC, social discovery and creator-led content. This role is ideal for someone who lives and breathes TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, and knows how to cut and craft video that performs. You have a strong instinct for pacing, hooks and storytelling, and you understand what makes a viewer stop scrolling. You will be responsible for editing short-form video content for our clients, producing content for Oysterly Media’s own social channels, and supporting the team with light project coordination as needed. Key responsibilities Video editing You will be the primary editor for short-form video content across TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. • Editing UGC and creator footage for client campaigns • Using CapCut, Premiere Pro or similar tools to a high standard • Applying editing techniques beyond trimming and stitching, including pacing, music, text on screen, sound effects and transitions that improve performance • Ensuring every video is optimised for the platform it is being posted on • Filming, editing and producing in-house video content for Oysterly Media’s own social channels each week • Reviewing video performance and feeding insights back into future edits Content and creative input You will contribute ideas and creative direction across the content process. • Reviewing raw footage and recommending the strongest angles and moments to use • Suggesting hooks, formats and on-screen text that improve engagement • Flagging creative issues with footage before editing begins • Contributing to script reviews and brief feedback where relevant Channel management and reporting You will support campaign delivery and performance tracking. • Scheduling and posting videos on TikTok and other platforms • Monitoring content performance and flagging key results • Ensuring all content follows brand guidelines • Contributing to performance updates for internal and client-facing reports Project coordination You will support the team with light coordination to keep campaigns on track. • Managing your own task list and edit queue across multiple campaigns • Keeping deliverables organised in tools such as Monday.com • Communicating clearly with the team about timelines and status • Ensuring edits are reviewed, revised and delivered on time What we’re looking for The ideal candidate will have: • 3+ years of experience editing short-form video content for social media • Strong proficiency in CapCut, Premiere Pro or similar editing tools • A portfolio demonstrating high-quality edits for TikTok, Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts • Deep understanding of what makes short-form video perform, including hooks, pacing and platform behaviour • Experience working in an agency, content studio, or social media team • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple edit queues at once Must-have skills • Strong short-form video editing experience across TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts • Proficiency in CapCut, Premiere Pro or equivalent • Eye for pacing, storytelling and performance-driven editing • Highly organised with a consistent, reliable working style • Clear and considered communication style • Native or near-native Bahasa Malaysia fluency (preferred but not required) • Understanding of Malaysian social media behaviour and audiences (preferred) Who this role is perfect for This role is perfect for someone who is a skilled, fast editor with a genuine passion for short-form video.
