Video Editor Needed for High-Retention Short-Form Storytelling (Ray William Johnson Style)

We are looking for an expert short-form video editor to help produce fast-paced, high-retention YouTube Shorts. The style is strictly live-action commentary and storytelling, heavily modeled after Ray William Johnson. You will be taking raw talking-head footage/voiceovers and transforming them into addictive, fast-scrolling videos. Responsibilities: Tight Pacing: Cut out all dead air, stutters, and pauses to keep the pacing incredibly snappy. Visual B-Roll: Source and layer relevant real-world images, news clips, memes, and graphics every 1–2 seconds to visually match the script. Effects & Scale: Implement sudden punch-ins/zoom-ins, green-screen background replacements, and dramatic photo cutouts. Asset & Image Creation: Crop, cut out backgrounds (masking), and manipulate photos or use AI/design tools to generate clean, custom visual assets for the layers. Text & Audio: Add stylized, highly visible captions (kinetic text) and punchy sound effects (whooshes, hits, comedic drops) to emphasize key plot points. Requirements: Advanced proficiency in Premiere Pro, After Effects, or CapCut Pro. Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar design tools for image generation, clean asset cutting, and masking. A strong portfolio showcasing fast-paced real-footage storytelling or true crime/commentary edits. Incredible sense of timing, engagement metrics, and visual hook placement.
