Video Editor for Nostalgic Camera Brand
Worldwide
We're Flashback, makers of the Flashback ONE35, a digital camera built for that disposable, nostalgic film feel. We're looking for a video editor for our ad campaigns and Instagram @joinflahback We need Someone who can look at raw, unedited footage and craft videos like an artist, not someone who just cuts clips together and slaps on some music. You should be good at color grading (DaVinci Resolve preferred, Premiere Pro is fine too) and have a real ear for sound design: pacing, layering, music choice. The stuff that makes a video feel alive instead of just "edited." We want the final cut to feel real and authentic. Also if your are someone who isn't afraid to step outside the box and try new creative things while editing, that great! The videos we love feel real, authentic, funny, a little raw. We care less about flashy transitions and more about pacing, atmosphere, and whether someone would actually stop scrolling to watch it. You'll be working closely with the Flashback founders and team directly. We'll assign you briefs and raw footage to cut from, and you'll also have access to our full Dropbox library of footage and photos dating back to early 2022. If you can't find what you need in there, just ask the team, we work as one. Once you've got a near-final draft, we review it together and move forward from there. What you get: Full access to our asset stack: Envato, HiggsField, Epidemic Sound, and whatever else you use to edit Creative freedom: as long as you stay within brand identity, you can pitch new ideas, formats, even thumbnails you will also receive a Flashback camera! Requirements: Strong narrative sense, able to find the story in raw footage, not just trim to a beat Solid color grading (DaVinci Resolve preferred, Premiere Pro accepted) Sound design experience: pacing, mixing, music selection A good sense of humor, able to spot the small, funny moments buried in raw footage and bring them into the edit Comfortable working in Notion and Dropbox Reliable, fast internet connection (you'll be handling large raw files remotely) Good written and spoken English, since we communicate frequently and need someone who can share ideas and thoughts clearly Full-time availability preferred, but open to part-time if you can consistently deliver good work How we're hiring: We're not doing first-round interviews for everyone, we want to see what you can make. Here's the process: No need for a full proposal, just introduce yourself and share your best 3 sound designs and your best 3 videos/reels you're proud of. Shortlisted editors get sent a raw, unedited video file and complete a paid test edit. Full creative freedom, brand guidelines provided. We decide based on the test. If it stands out, we'll do one short call/interview before moving forward. That's it, no extended interview process. Check us out on Instagram @joinflahback if you haven't already, it's worth a look.
