Video Editor for Scripted Series
Worldwide
**Video Editor for Scripted Series (Long-Term, Per-Episode)** I'm looking for a reliable long-term video editor to cut full episodes of scripted drama series on an ongoing basis. I run several different shows and need a go-to editor I can keep working with, not a one-off hire. **Important context on the footage** These series are filmed inside Second Life, which is a 3D virtual world (a video game environment). So this is animated, machinima-style footage, not live-action. If you've edited gaming content, animation, or virtual production before, that translates well here. Occasionally I'll also provide AI-generated clips to drop in where Second Life can't do something naturally, like a dream sequence, a zoom-in on a phone, or a phone ringing, so some episodes will mix in that footage too. **What you'll be editing** - Episode length: 25 to 35 minutes finished runtime - You'll receive: raw footage, the full script to follow, the audio delivered separately, and a previously edited episode so you can see the style we go for - Your job: assemble to script, sync the separate audio to picture, cut for pacing and story, basic color, clean transitions, and integrate any AI clips I provide - Sound design: add sound effects to match the action (cooking, driving, ambient noise, etc.) using royalty-free sources we pull from online - Estimated effort: roughly 15 to 20 hours per episode **What I'm looking for** - Proven experience editing long-form narrative or scripted content, not just short social clips - Comfortable syncing separate audio tracks to video and matching dialogue to script - Solid sound design instincts, knows how to layer in effects that sell a scene - Strong sense of pacing and storytelling, not just technical assembly - Reliable with deadlines and clear communication - Available for ongoing, long-term work across multiple shows - Editing in DaVinci Resolve preferred. Tell me your main software if different. **To apply, please include** - A short note on your experience with scripted, animation, or gaming/virtual content - Links to 1 to 2 samples of long-form work you've cut - Your rate, quoted per episode based on the scope above - Your typical turnaround time for a 25 to 35 minute edit I provide the footage, script, audio, and a reference episode. You bring the edit, the sound design, and a sharp eye for pacing. This is steady, recurring work for the right person.
