Video Editor needed for Cinematic YouTube Real Estate Documentary Channel
Worldwide
I’m looking for a talented video editor to become a long-term creative partner for a new YouTube documentary channel focused on real estate, business and the stories behind the world’s most interesting buildings and developments. This is not a vlog channel, talking-head channel or property investing channel. The goal is to produce premium documentary-style videos that keep viewers engaged from start to finish through exceptional storytelling, pacing and visuals. Topics include: * Billion-pound developments * Mega projects * Who owns famous buildings and cities * Real estate billionaires * Property finance * Urban regeneration * Commercial real estate * The economics behind the built environment Think channels such as: * The B1M * James Jani * MagnatesMedia * Neo * Johnny Harris * Search Party What you’ll be doing You’ll take a completed voiceover and script and transform it into a polished, engaging documentary. This includes: * Finding and incorporating high-quality stock footage * Using maps, satellite imagery and motion graphics where appropriate * Creating smooth transitions and maintaining strong pacing * Adding text, graphics and visual callouts * Using music and sound design to build emotion and tension * Colour grading and polishing the final video * Keeping viewers engaged throughout with strong visual storytelling The goal isn’t flashy editing—it’s making every second earn the viewer’s attention. The ideal editor * Proven experience editing YouTube documentaries * Excellent storytelling and pacing * Strong motion graphics skills * Able to source high-quality visuals and B-roll * Great understanding of retention and audience engagement * Strong attention to detail * Reliable communication and able to meet deadlines * Looking for a long-term collaboration Bonus skills * Experience with maps and animated diagrams * Basic animation in After Effects * Sound design * Thumbnail design (not essential) * Interest in business, real estate, economics, architecture or cities To apply Please include: 1. Your best documentary-style edits (YouTube links or portfolio). 2. Which editing software you use. 3. A brief explanation of how you would edit this video: “Inside Manchester’s £70 Billion Property Boom (And Who’s Getting Rich)” I’d like to understand your creative process, how you’d maintain viewer retention, and how you’d bring the story to life visually. This is intended to be a long-term role. As the channel grows, I want to build a small team that consistently produces some of the highest-quality real estate documentaries on YouTube.
