Video Editor — Direct Response / Performance Creative About the Role We're looking for a video editor who lives at the intersection of direct-response advertising and AI-assisted creative production. You'll be responsible for turning proven ad structures ("rips") into high-converting, on-brand creative, and using outputs from our internal agentic AI system to sharpen the specific angles, hooks, and narrative choices in every edit. This isn't a traditional "make it look pretty" editing role. You'll be working alongside an AI-driven creative research pipeline that surfaces winning ad patterns and messaging angles — your job is to translate that intelligence into finished, scroll-stopping video ads that convert. What You'll Do Rip and rebuild high-performing ads. Deconstruct proven direct-response ads (competitor creative, past winners, UGC-style content) and rebuild them with our product, script, and brand — preserving the structural and psychological elements that make them convert (hook, pacing, pattern interrupts, CTA placement, etc.) Translate AI-generated angles into edits. Work directly from outputs of our agentic AI creative system — which analyzes performance data and generates recommended messaging angles, hooks, and emotional framings — and execute edits that bring those angles to life visually and narratively Rapid iteration and testing. Produce multiple creative variants (hook swaps, pacing changes, different angles on the same footage) to support structured A/B testing at speed Own the full edit pipeline. Sourcing/organizing footage, rough cuts, sound design, captions/subtitles, motion graphics, color, and final export specs for each ad platform (Meta, TikTok, YouTube, etc.) Close the feedback loop. Track which edits and angles perform well and feed qualitative observations back into the creative/AI workflow to improve future outputs Required Skills & Experience 2+ years editing direct-response, performance, or UGC-style video ads (not just brand/lifestyle content) Demonstrated ability to reverse-engineer and adapt existing ad creative ("rip and refresh") rather than build purely from scratch Strong command of Premiere Pro, CapCut, or DaVinci Resolve; comfortable working fast and in volume Familiarity with direct-response editing conventions: pattern interrupts, native/UGC aesthetics, caption-driven retention tactics, CTA structuring Hands-on comfort working with AI tools in a production workflow — not just generic AI video tools, but the ability to take structured output from an agentic AI system (e.g., a set of generated creative angles, hooks, or briefs) and translate it into an actual edit Understanding of basic performance metrics (hook rate, thumb-stop ratio, CTR, CPA) and how editing decisions affect them Nice to Have Experience with prompt-based or agentic AI tools (e.g., Claude, GPT-based agents, automated research/creative pipelines) beyond just using them for a script or caption Motion graphics / After Effects skills Paid social media buying background (understanding what the algorithm and audience actually respond to) Portfolio with measurable ad performance results, not just reels
