Video Production for International Research Fellowship Dissemination Film
Worldwide
Short documentary-style opening film for global research dissemination event (Churchill Fellowship, social work leadership) Category: Video Editing / Video Production Project description: I am an Australian social worker and 2025 Churchill Fellow, just completing an eight-week, nine-country research fellowship exploring what helps early-career social work leaders stay true to their values as they move into leadership. My fieldwork took me through Denver, Minneapolis, Toronto, London, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dublin, Belfast, Helsinki, Gothenburg, Brussels, and Nairobi. I'm planning a global online dissemination event to share my findings with participants, and the wider social work and human services sector, and I need a short opening film to set the scene before the live presentation begins. What I have: Photos and short video clips from across all nine countries (landmarks, interview settings, a few candid moments) Recorded interview footage and audio from several participants who have consented to appear. A small number of photos and headshots and local scenes. Not sure if I want a short reflective VoiceOver from me or engaging and relatable music. What I need: A 3 minute opening film, documentary or "trailer" style, weaving together photos, video clips, location footage, and a small amount of participant footage. My voiceover as the narrative spine, with light captions or text overlay for key locations and names where needed? A simple, warm, professional tone, not corporate, not overly polished, this should feel like a genuine fieldwork journey, not a marketing reel. Subtle, calming background music (royalty-free, I'm open to your recommendations). Captions/subtitles burned in or as a separate file for accessibility. Final delivery in a format suitable for both a live Zoom/webinar presentation and as a standalone shareable video (e.g. for LinkedIn and YouTube) Nice to have: Experience with travel, documentary, or research/academic dissemination videos. An eye for pacing that builds anticipation without feeling rushed. Comfort working from a mix of iphone-shot footage and clips, since my own material is a genuine mix of both. Timeline: I'd like a first draft within two to three weeks of project start, with one to two rounds of revision before final delivery. The video and associated powerpoint presentation needs to be fully developed my mid September. To apply, please share: Examples of similar short documentary or dissemination-style videos you've produced. Your typical turnaround time for a project like this. Whether you can work from a mix of source quality (iphone footage mainly).
