Summary

JupiterMuse.com | Sonic Branding & Music Publishing House Job Type: Part-Time | Remote | Contract Hours: ~10 hours/week Pay: $100 USD/week (flat rate) Start: Immediate Preferred Language: Bilingual English/Spanish (strongly preferred) About JupiterMuse JupiterMuse is a growing sonic branding and music publishing house representing composers across a wide range of commercial formats — sync licensing, trailer music, catalog placements, brand soundscapes, and more. We work with composers worldwide and place music with advertising agencies, film & TV productions, and global brands. We're expanding our roster and need a sharp, music-savvy Virtual Assistant to help us find and vet new composer talent — fast. What You'll Be Doing Your primary mission is talent discovery and filtering. You'll be the frontline between JupiterMuse and the wider composer community. That means: Sourcing composers across platforms (SoundCloud, Bandcamp, YouTube, Splice, social media, composer forums, Facebook groups, Reddit communities, LinkedIn, etc.) Evaluating submissions and profiles — identifying composers whose style, catalog quality, and genre fit our needs in sync, sonic branding, trailer music, and catalog licensing Filtering out poor fits — low-quality recordings, copyright issues, unprofessional conduct, genres we don't represent, or catalog too thin to be viable Reaching out to promising candidates via email, DM, or contact forms with a provided outreach template (or crafting your own with our approval) Logging all activity in a shared tracker (Google Sheets or Notion) — who you contacted, their status, links to their work, your assessment notes Presenting a shortlist of 2–3 vetted, ready-to-onboard composers each week for our review What "Filtering" Actually Means This is critical. We do NOT want a list of everyone with a SoundCloud page. We need someone who can listen critically and ask: Does this composer have a defined, consistent sound? Is the production quality sync-ready (clean mix, no copyright conflicts, proper metadata)? Do they have a catalog of at least 10–20 tracks that could serve commercial placements? Are they responsive and professional in communication? Do they have existing placements, or is there clear potential for sync work? If you can't tell the difference between a bedroom hobbyist and a working sync composer, this role is not for you. We trust your ears and your judgment. Performance Expectations & Contract Terms This is a results-based contract. We measure success simply: ✅ Minimum target: 2–3 new qualified composers added to the JupiterMuse roster per week ✅ Monthly minimum: 8 new composers onboarded per month If the monthly quota of 8 new composers is not met, the contract will not be renewed. We value quality over quantity — but we need consistent momentum. These aren't just leads; they are composers who have been contacted, expressed interest, and are ready to move forward. We track everything transparently, and you'll have full visibility into your own metrics. You Are a Great Fit If You: Have experience in music, the music industry, or sync licensing (even as a musician yourself) Are bilingual in English and Spanish — this opens doors with Latin American and Spanish composer communities we actively want to reach Are a self-starter who doesn't need hand-holding to hit weekly goals Have strong internet research skills and know how to find people who aren't always easy to find Are organized — you keep clean notes, update trackers without being asked, and follow up on leads Communicate professionally and represent a brand well in outreach Have experience with Upwork, remote work, or a VA role previously (a plus, not required) Tools We Use (or You'll Help Us Use) Google Sheets / Notion for tracking Gmail or shared inbox for outreach Any platforms you already use to discover music (Spotify, SoundCloud, YouTube, SubmitHub, etc.) How to Apply Please include in your application: A brief intro about yourself and your relationship to music (do you play, produce, listen obsessively, work in the industry?) One example of a composer, artist, or music project you think is exceptional and why — this tells us a lot about your taste and judgment Your availability (hours/days per week you can commit) Confirmation that you are bilingual in English and Spanish (if applicable) Any previous VA, research, music industry, or outreach experience Applications without a music example will not be reviewed. We want to see how you think, not just what you've done. A Note on This Role This is not a data entry job. This is a talent-scouting role that happens to be part-time and virtual. The best person for this job loves music, has opinions about it, and gets genuinely excited when they find something great. If that's you — we want to hear from you.
