Virtual Assistant for JIRA Board Organization and Task Automation

Summary

We're a small, fast-moving team looking for a proactive virtual assistant to keep our JIRA board clean, current, and actually useful and to help automate the repetitive work we do internally using AI tools like Claude. This isn't passive data entry. You'll own the day-to-day health of our board and use AI to take manual, recurring tasks off our plate. What you'll do: Triage incoming issues into the right epics, sprints, and priorities Keep ticket statuses, assignees, and due dates accurate and up to date Build and maintain JIRA automation rules to cut out manual steps Clean up stale, duplicate, or incomplete tickets Generate weekly status summaries from board data Use Claude to automate manual tasks we handle internally; drafting and editing emails, turning rough notes into ticket descriptions, summarizing sprints, and streamlining other recurring work (we'll provide access and guidance) What we're looking for: Hands-on JIRA experience (you can build an automation rule without hand-holding) Strong organizational instincts and attention to detail Comfort using AI tools in a real workflow, or genuine eagerness to learn fast Clear, reliable communication and quick response times during working hours Self-starter who flags problems and suggests improvements rather than waiting to be told Nice to have: experience with project management for software/product teams, and familiarity with Confluence or Atlassian automation. We'll start with a small paid trial task before moving to ongoing work.
