# Visual Designer / Illustrator (Hand-Drawn Brand Style) | Long-Term Opportunity We're an early-stage media, education, and personal development startup looking for a talented visual designer to help create illustrations, graphics, PDFs, social content, presentations, website assets, and other brand materials. This is not a one-off project. We're looking for a long-term creative partner who can grow alongside the company. More details about the brand, visual style, and vision will be shared with shortlisted candidates. ### What You'll Do * Create new illustrations and graphics that precisely match an existing visual style * Study existing assets, understand the visual language, and create new pieces that feel native to the brand * Extend our visual universe with new concepts while maintaining strong stylistic consistency * Design content for social media, websites, newsletters, PDFs, presentations, and educational content * Maintain and organize our growing design library and visual asset database * Create systems for storing, tagging, naming, and retrieving design files * Help build reusable templates, components, and design systems * Improve creative workflows and documentation over time * Use AI tools where appropriate to accelerate brainstorming, ideation, and production workflows ### What Matters Most We have a highly distinctive visual style. The original illustrations were created using a combination of iPad workflows, GoodNotes, Adobe tools, and other software, but we're flexible on how you work. What matters is your ability to study existing assets, understand the visual language, and create new work that feels consistent with the brand. We're looking for strong design judgment, attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to work within an established style while introducing new ideas and concepts. AI-native workflows are encouraged. AI can be used for brainstorming, research, references, and workflow acceleration. However, for the initial projects, we're primarily evaluating your ability to create original work that matches an existing visual system rather than generating artwork from prompts alone. ### Ideal Candidate * Strong illustration and visual design skills * Excellent taste and aesthetic judgment * Comfortable creating original illustrations using tools such as an iPad, GoodNotes, Procreate, Adobe Illustrator, or similar design tools * Exceptional attention to detail and consistency * Organized, reliable, and responsive * Comfortable using AI tools as part of your workflow * Learns quickly and adapts easily * Comfortable with ambiguity, ownership, and wearing multiple hats in a startup environment * Interested in building systems, not just individual assets ### Why This Role Is Different You'll work directly with me, the founder. I've spent 10+ years building startups across product, operations, growth, fundraising, and community-building. I'm less interested in finding someone who already knows every tool and more interested in finding someone who learns quickly, takes ownership, and wants to build something meaningful over the long term.
