To build out the product catalog similar to www.staples.com? We need a left sidebar filter panel paired with a product grid and I want to make sure the designer understands exactly what we're working with before starting. The filter sidebar needs five controls stacked vertically. First is a category dropdown with 35 departments including things like Eyes & Ears, Hard Hats, Foot Protection, Respirators, Disposable Coveralls, Arc Flash and Electrician Clothing, Tools and Home Improvement, Office Supplies, and Cell Phones and Accessories. Second is a brand dropdown that cascades — when a shopper picks a category it automatically narrows to only show relevant brands. For example Hard Hats shows 3M, Bullard, Honeywell, MSA, Pyramex and Lift Safety while Office Supplies shows Hammermill, Avery, BIC and Fellowes. We have 299 brands total. Third is a live search bar that filters by product name as the user types. Fourth is a min and max price input since our catalog ranges from $1.70 to $2,622. Fifth is a Clear and Apply button at the bottom with a result count below them like "247 products found." The product grid should show four columns on desktop, two on tablet and one on mobile. Each card needs a product image at a fixed height so all images are uniform, the product name in two lines max, the price in bold, a quantity stepper and an Add to Cart button. Cards should have a clean white background with a subtle border and soft shadow, no clutter. The site is built on Wix so all design decisions need to be achievable within the Wix Editor.
