Wave Runup Analysis Requirements A wave runup analysis is required for any obstruction greater than 12 inches, including fill or any structure that is not frangible and is intended to remain in place. The requirement is based on FEMA TB5 Free‑of‑Obstruction standards and the City of St. Petersburg Ordinance. The analysis must be a detailed report that includes: Existing and proposed site conditions Evaluation of 25‑year, 50‑year, and 100‑year storm events Wave approach direction and how waves may deflect toward neighboring structures due to the obstruction Use of modeling tools, including the CHAMP (Coastal Hazard Analysis Modeling Program) model, to support findings
