Web Developer for Bubbletent Australia
Worldwide
**Location: Remote (Australian time zone preferred) **Type: Ongoing / Contract (via Upwork) ## About Us Bubbletent Australia offers a unique off-grid glamping experience in the Capertee Valley, NSW. Bubble tents under the stars, wood-fired baths, and a fully remote escape for grown ups. As our guest experience has grown, so has the technology behind it, and we're looking for a web developer to help us keep building and maintaining it. ## About the Role We're after a developer who can take real ownership of our website and the digital tools that support our guest experience. This includes custom booking flows and admin tools, third-party integrations, to the general day-to-day upkeep that keeps everything running smoothly and securely. This is a hands-on role for someone who's comfortable working across the full stack of a WordPress-based site: front-end polish, back-end logic, and the practical realities of e-commerce, booking systems, and third-party APIs. ## What We're Looking For - Strong WordPress development experience (theme customisation, custom plugins/admin tools, PHP) - Comfort with front-end work — HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — with an eye for clean, on-brand design - Experience integrating third-party APIs and widgets (booking engines, email platforms, payment systems, and similar) - Understanding of website security, maintenance, and keeping a live e-commerce site running reliably - Ability to work independently, translate loose ideas and feedback into working features, and communicate clearly along the way - Experience integrating AI/LLM APIs into internal tools (e.g. generating or refining draft messages) - Experience generating documents programmatically (e.g. branded PDFs from templated data) - Experience building automated SMS and email workflows (scheduled sends, reminders, transactional messages) ## What You'll Get - A genuinely interesting, varied project with plans to expand novel features into the website - Direct collaboration with the founders, with real input into how features are designed and built - Flexibility to work remotely and manage your own schedule - The chance to build tools that directly shape a one-of-a-kind guest experience ## How to Apply Send us a bit about yourself, links to relevant work or a portfolio, and why this role appeals to you. We're looking for someone who wants to work on a creative and collaborative project. We're a small team and value someone who can take creative initiative and bring our ideas and conversations to life through design. If this sounds like you — get in touch and let's chat.
