BUILDING PERMIT RESEARCH — Charlotte County & Punta Gorda, Florida I am doing market research on home builders in Charlotte County, Florida. Every time a builder builds a new house, the local government issues a building permit. This is a free public record. I need you to find those permits for 10 specific builders and put the information into a spreadsheet. Everything is done from your computer. No phone calls. No account needed. No construction knowledge needed. THE 2 WEBSITES YOU WILL USE Charlotte County permit search: secureapps.charlottecountyfl.gov/CitizenAccess City of Punta Gorda permit search (on the official City of Punta Gorda website, Building Division) You must search BOTH websites. The city and the county keep separate records. DATE RANGE January 1, 2022 to today. WHAT YOU DO, STEP BY STEP Open the website and find "Search Permits." Set the dates: January 1, 2022 to today. Type a builder name in the contractor / business name box. Search. If a name gives no results, try a shorter version of the name (example: "Frizzell" instead of "R. Frizzell Builders"). Keep only permits for NEW HOUSES (for example "New Single Family Residence"). Ignore roofs, pools, docks, electrical, plumbing, remodels, additions, fences, and anything that is not a complete new house. If you are not sure whether a permit is a new house, include it and write NOT SURE in the Notes column. For each new-house permit, copy these 7 items into the spreadsheet: Builder name Permit number Date issued Property address Construction value (dollar amount) Permit type (exactly as written) Website (County or City) Take 1–2 screenshots of the results page for each builder. Repeat for all 10 builders on both websites. I will send you a PDF guide with the 10 builder names, search tips, and a spreadsheet example. THE SPREADSHEET (Excel or Google Sheets) Sheet 1 "All Permits": one row per permit with the 7 items above, plus a Notes column.
