Website Backup, Migration & Disaster Recovery Documentation I have an existing PHP-based website (relatively small) that I want fully backed up, documented, and made portable so it can be restored or migrated to a new hosting environment in the future. Project Objectives 1. Create a complete backup of the website and all associated components. 2. Document the current hosting environment and dependencies. 3. Provide a tested restoration process. 4. Store backups in cloud storage and/or on an external drive. Scope of Work The contractor will: Website & Application Files * Backup all website files and source code. * Identify any frameworks, libraries, or dependencies. * Document directory structure and application requirements. Database * Export and verify all databases. * Document database versions and configuration. * Verify that the backup can be restored successfully. Hosting & Server Configuration * Document server specifications and operating system. * Document PHP version and required extensions. * Document web server configuration (Apache, Nginx, etc.). * Capture any environment variables and configuration files required for operation. Domain & DNS * Document DNS settings. * Document domain registrar information (if available). * Document all DNS records necessary for migration. SSL & Security * Document SSL certificate configuration. * Document renewal process and provider. Email Services * Document email hosting and configuration. * Document SMTP settings and any email integrations. Third-Party Services * Identify and document all third-party integrations, APIs, plugins, automations, and external services used by the website. Deliverables 1. Complete website backup package. 2. Complete database backup package. 3. Written documentation describing: * Current architecture * Hosting environment * Dependencies * DNS and domain configuration * SSL configuration * Third-party integrations 4. Step-by-step deployment guide. 5. Step-by-step disaster recovery / restoration guide. 6. Verification that the website can be restored from the provided backup. Success Criteria At the conclusion of the project, I should be able to hand the backup package and documentation to another qualified engineer and have the website fully restored on a new hosting provider without requiring additional information. Please include: * Similar migration or backup projects you have completed. * Your proposed approach. * Estimated hours and fixed-price quote.
