Website Designer / Developer Needed for Tour Company Website
Worldwide
We are looking for an experienced website designer/developer to build a polished, easy-to-manage website for a new small-group tour company. The project involves taking an existing Brand Book and implementing it into a professional, visually appealing tour company website. The site should feel premium, trustworthy, and easy to navigate, while also being simple for us to update in the future. Preferred Platform WordPress is strongly preferred. We are open to custom HTML or another solution, but only if the final website is genuinely easy for a non-technical owner to update, particularly when adding, editing, and reordering tours. We already have a domain. Required Pages / Sections The initial website should include: Home / landing page About Us Contact Us Tour catalogue page Individual tour itinerary pages Generic multi-purpose pages for things like Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, FAQs, and similar content Email capture and enquiry/contact forms Space for reviews/testimonials Seamless incorporation of both videos and photos Homepage Requirements The homepage should showcase upcoming tours, photos/videos of happy guests, testimonials, and supporting copy. We should be able to update featured tours, images, videos, and homepage sections ourselves in the future. Tour Catalogue Requirements The tour catalogue should be easy to update and should allow us to add, remove, reorder, and feature tours in the future. The catalogue should include standard filtering/search functionality, such as: Destination Dates Host / expert Theme Tour status, such as available, waitlist, sold out, or coming soon Other relevant fields Each individual tour should have its own unique URL. We use a separate booking system, so a full booking engine is not required. However, each tour page must be able to include a “Book Now” button or embedded booking widget that connects to the correct trip in our booking system. Forms / Email Capture The website should include enquiry and email capture forms. These should integrate with a sensible external tool or automation workflow, potentially through Zapier, or another recommended solution. Please include your recommendation for the best approach. Content We will provide: Brand Book Website copy Tour information Legal text Reviews/testimonials Photos Videos Some placeholder copy or imagery may be needed during the build, but all content areas should be easy for us to update later. SEO / Analytics The site should be built in a way that makes it easy to add or manage: Basic SEO titles and descriptions Google Analytics Meta Pixel or other tracking pixels Google Search Console Future SEO optimisation Future AI/search optimisation A full SEO strategy is not required, but the technical structure should not create problems later. Not Required This project does not require: A full booking engine Payment gateway integration Membership or customer portal functionality We already have a separate booking system and will simply embed or link to the relevant booking widget for each tour. Training / Handover The successful freelancer should provide basic training documentation or a walkthrough showing how we can: Add and edit tours Reorder featured tours Update homepage sections Replace images and videos Edit page copy Update forms or enquiry links Add or update booking widget links/buttons Make basic website changes without needing a developer each time We have run WordPress websites for years and are comfortable making changes to copy, images, and standard page content. However, we want the tour catalogue and tour page structure to be simple and reliable to manage after handover. Training and documentation are especially important if the site is not built in WordPress. Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who has experience building attractive, functional websites for travel, tourism, cultural, luxury, education, events, or similar businesses. You should be comfortable creating a site that is both visually strong and practical for ongoing updates. Please include examples of relevant websites you have built, especially if they involve catalogues, filters, landing pages, travel products, or content-heavy businesses. Project Type This is a fixed-price project. We are also open to future hourly consulting work for incremental improvements. Timeline is flexible, but we would like to commence within the next few weeks. When Applying, Please Include Your recommended platform and why. Whether you recommend WordPress or another setup for this project. Examples of similar websites you have built. How you would structure the tour catalogue and individual tour pages so we can update them ourselves. Your once-in-a-lifetime holiday destination. Your proposed fixed-price quote or pricing structure. Your expected timeline. What you would need from us before beginning. Whether training documentation or a walkthrough is included.
