Website Migration Scope of Work Michael Yerzinkyan Law lawyerzink.com | Valley Village, California Request for Proposal issued: April 2026 1. Project Overview Michael Yerzinkyan Law is a solo plaintiff-side employment and personal injury firm in Valley Village, California. The firm's existing website is built on Wix and will be rebuilt on self-hosted WordPress. The rebuild must preserve the existing domain (lawyerzink.com) and the organic search equity associated with it. This document defines the scope of work required and the form in which proposals should be submitted. The firm is accepting bids from qualified freelance developers and small agencies with demonstrated experience in WordPress migrations and law firm websites. 2. Project Objectives Primary: Migrate from Wix to self-hosted WordPress without loss of existing organic search rankings or backlink equity. Secondary: Improve site speed, mobile experience, structured data coverage, and local SEO signals for Valley Village and the greater Los Angeles legal services market. Tertiary: Deliver a WordPress installation the firm owns and can maintain independently, with the ability to publish blog content and edit practice area pages without developer involvement. 3. Scope of Work 3.1 Discovery and Audit • Full URL inventory of the existing Wix site, delivered as a spreadsheet. • Content audit identifying pages to migrate, consolidate, or retire. • Keyword and ranking baseline report using Search Console and a third-party tool (Ahrefs, Semrush, or equivalent). • Competitive review of three to five peer plaintiff-side employment law firms in the Los Angeles market. 3.2 Design • Homepage, practice area template, attorney bio, contact, and blog index designs delivered for approval before development. • Mobile-first responsive design tested on iOS and Android devices (not just browser emulators). • WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility compliance, including a published accessibility statement page. • Logo and visual branding integration (firm will supply existing brand assets). 3.3 Development and Migration • Self-hosted WordPress installation on managed hosting (Kinsta, WP Engine, or Cloudways, firm preference). • Content migration for all retained pages, with formatting, images, and internal links preserved. • Blog post migration with original publish dates and author attribution intact. • Contact form(s) integrated with email delivery and a basic anti-spam layer. • Staging environment made available to the firm during build for review. 3.4 SEO and Rankings Preservation This section is the highest-priority portion of the engagement. Proposals must itemize SEO preservation work as a separate line item. • One-to-one 301 redirect map from every existing Wix URL to its corresponding WordPress URL, implemented at the server or plugin level. Redirect map to be delivered as a reviewable spreadsheet before launch. • Title tag, meta description, and H1 configuration on every migrated page, matching or improving existing equivalents. • Structured data markup in JSON-LD format, including LegalService, Attorney, LocalBusiness, and Review schema types where applicable. Validated through Google Rich Results Test with screenshots provided. • XML sitemap generation and submission to Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools on launch day. • Robots.txt configuration and canonical tag audit. • Installation and configuration of Rank Math or Yoast SEO (firm preference Rank Math). • Google Business Profile NAP consistency check against the new site footer, contact page, and schema. • Post-launch crawl error monitoring for thirty days, with weekly status report. 3.5 Performance and Security • Core Web Vitals targets on launch: LCP under 2.5s, INP under 200ms, CLS under 0.1, verified on the firm's contact page, homepage, and primary practice area page. • Caching layer (WP Rocket or equivalent) configured and tested. • Image compression pipeline (ShortPixel or equivalent) for new uploads. • HTTPS enforcement sitewide with valid SSL certificate. • Security plugin installation and hardening (Wordfence, Solid Security, or equivalent). • Automated daily backups with off-site retention for thirty days. 3.6 Analytics and Tracking • Google Analytics 4 property installation and configuration. • Google Search Console verification for the new site. • Google Tag Manager container installed. • Goal or conversion event tracking for contact form submissions and phone clicks. 3.7 Launch and Handoff • Pre-launch checklist reviewed with the firm. • DNS cutover coordinated during a low-traffic window. • Post-launch verification: redirect audit on all migrated URLs, Search Console checks, Core Web Vitals recheck. • One live training session (recorded) covering how to edit pages, publish blog posts, update practice area content, and manage plugin updates. • Written documentation delivered as PDF covering login access, plugin inventory, backup procedures, and emergency contacts. • Thirty days of post-launch bug fix support included. 4. Ownership and Access Requirements The following are non-negotiable. Proposals that do not accommodate these terms will not be considered. • The domain lawyerzink.com remains registered to Michael Yerzinkyan at all times. • The hosting account is created in the firm's name or transferred to the firm at project close. The firm pays the hosting vendor directly. • Administrator-level WordPress credentials are delivered to the firm at project close. • All custom code, theme files, and child themes developed for this project are owned by the firm and delivered as part of the handoff. • All third-party plugin licenses purchased for this project are registered in the firm's name. • No proprietary CMS, page builder lock-in, or other mechanism that makes it difficult for the firm to change developers later. 5. Proposal Requirements Submitted proposals must include the following. Proposals missing any of these items will be set aside. 1. Itemized cost breakdown corresponding to sections 3.1 through 3.7 above, with a subtotal for each section. Lump-sum quotes without itemization are not accepted. 2.
