Website Transfer To New Theme 2026

Summary

Using the WordPress theme I provide, please conduct a full site update to the new theme. Ensure that all branding elements such as font size, weight, H1-H6, brand colours, etc. are all easily changeable from one location. The goal is to clean up the website and remove any bad or old code, or problematic setups from the previous programmer. Create a clean and functioning site. Make it operate fast and quickly for SEO. Do not use complex code, unless discussed and approved prior. Retain all existing pages and blog posts, as they are; just now with the new theme design. On SEO and content preservation: all existing permalinks must stay identical, and any URL that has to change requires a 301 redirect; existing meta titles, meta descriptions, image alt text, and schema markup must carry over intact. To be completely clear on indexing: the live site remains fully indexed and untouched throughout the entire build, while the staging copy must be set to noindex for the whole development period so it is never crawled and never competes with the live site as duplicate content. At launch, once the new build replaces the live site and I have approved it, the noindex must be removed, indexing must be confirmed as fully enabled on the live site, and a regenerated XML sitemap must be submitted to Google Search Console so the new version is recrawled immediately. I will record current PageSpeed and Search Console data before work begins and compare it after launch. On technical requirements: all development happens on a staging copy, with no work on the live site and launch only after my approval; take a complete database and file backup before any changes and send me a copy; all customizations go in a child theme so theme updates do not overwrite the work; any plugin added or removed must be listed and approved by me first, and no paid plugins are to be licensed under your own account; hosting, DNS, and PHP version are not to be changed without my written approval; the performance target is Core Web Vitals passing and mobile PageSpeed above 80; and the site must be tested on mobile, tablet, and desktop across Chrome, Safari, and Firefox before handoff.
