Women’s Intimate Apparel Product Designer
Worldwide
I'm the founder of a fast-growing women's shapewear brand with one clear goal: To build one of the best premium shapewear products on the market. Over the past year I've built a successful business through direct-to-consumer marketing, but I believe the biggest opportunity now is product innovation. Rather than creating another generic pair of shaper shorts, my ambition is to develop a product capable of competing with leading brands such as Honeylove and SKIMS through exceptional functionality, comfort and customer experience. I already have a clear product vision, understand my customer deeply, and have extensive real-world feedback from selling shapewear at scale. This role is for someone who enjoys solving technical product challenges and can transform product concepts into innovative, production-ready garments. What You'll Do: • Translate product concepts into original, production-ready garment designs. • Create detailed technical sketches, Illustrator flats and development documentation. • Produce professional factory-ready tech packs. • Recommend innovative construction techniques, trims and finishing methods. • Help solve fit, comfort and construction challenges through thoughtful product design. • Work collaboratively through multiple iterations to refine the product before production. Product Development Approach: As part of the project, you'll receive a pair of premium shaper shorts to evaluate as a performance benchmark. The objective is not to replicate the product. Instead, I want to understand what makes it successful from a construction, comfort and functionality perspective, then use those learnings to help develop an original product with its own identity and improved customer experience. I'll provide: • A detailed product vision. • Customer pain points and insights gathered from selling shapewear at scale. • Performance goals for the garment. • Compression zone requirements. • Fabric selections and material direction. What We're Looking For: • 3–5 years of experience designing intimate apparel, knitwear, or closely related product categories. • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or equivalent professional experience. • Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, fabrics, and intimate apparel engineering. • Excellent visual design instincts with exceptional attention to detail. • Experience creating production-ready tech packs and development packages. • Curious, detail-oriented and passionate about solving complex product challenges. The Opportunity This is just the beginning of our product roadmap. If we work well together and you're a great fit, I'd love to continue collaborating consistently on future product launches as we expand our shapewear range. My goal is to build a long-term relationship with someone who takes pride in building exceptional products and wants to help create something that can genuinely compete with the best brands in the category.
