WordPress Developer – WP Recipe Maker + MemberPress (Free vs Paid Recipes)
Worldwide
I’m looking for a WordPress developer to help turn my existing website (Nolan’s Bakery & Eatery – gluten-free soul food) into a free vs paid recipe membership site. I want to use WP Recipe Maker for recipes and MemberPress for memberships. The goal is to keep my current branding and layout, but add a simple membership structure and a clear member journey. Scope (high level): • Install & configure WP Recipe Maker, including one example recipe. • Install & configure MemberPress with one paid membership tier. • Set up free vs paid access rules (1–2 free recipes, 1–2 member-only examples). • Configure and lightly brand the login, account, and thank-you pages. • Build one reusable recipe page template using WP Recipe Maker. • Create a simple Member Area (member dashboard) page and add it to the menu. • Make sure new members are clearly welcomed, know what to do next, and can easily find recipes and member content. • Provide a short handoff (written steps or Loom) so I can add future recipes and member-only content myself. What I care about: • Clean, simple setup over heavy custom code. • Keeping things on brand: warm, welcoming, easy to understand. • Clear communication and willingness to explain what you’re doing. Please start your proposal with “WPRM + MemberPress” and briefly: 1. Share 1–2 examples of MemberPress or recipe sites you’ve worked on. 2. Confirm your experience with WP Recipe Maker. 3. Describe in 2–3 sentences how you’d structure free vs paid recipe content for my site. _______________ Full Scope of Work 1. WP Recipe Maker – install, configure, and example recipe • Install and activate WP Recipe Maker. • Configure basic settings so recipes: • Are easy to read (ingredients, instructions, notes). • Include proper recipe schema / JSON-LD for SEO. • Choose a default recipe template style that fits my brand (colors, fonts, spacing) as closely as possible within my current theme. • Create one example recipe using WP Recipe Maker so I can see how all fields work. Deliverables: • WP Recipe Maker installed and working correctly. • One published example recipe page using WP Recipe Maker. --- 2. MemberPress – install, configure, and single-tier membership • Install and activate MemberPress. • Configure: • Payment gateway(s) we agree on (e.g., Stripe/PayPal) if needed. • One paid membership tier, e.g. “Nolan’s Gluten-Free Soul Food Membership.” • Set up access rules so: • Public/free content remains available to everyone. • Member-only content is protected and requires an active membership. • Keep the initial setup simple: • 1 free/public layer. • 1 paid membership tier (structured so we can add tiers later if needed). Deliverables: • MemberPress configured with one working paid membership. • At least one protected page or post demonstrating the access control. --- 3. Login, account, and thank-you pages – configuration and branding Login page • Confirm the MemberPress login page exists and works. • Lightly style it so it matches my site (no heavy redesign). • Ensure there’s a clear “Forgot password?” link and a way back to the main site. Account page • Confirm the MemberPress account page is working and accessible from the site/menu. • Make sure members can see their membership status and relevant account details. • Keep style consistent with the rest of the site. Thank-you page (after purchase) • Set up the MemberPress Thank You page and customize the wording to: • Welcome the new member in a warm, on-brand voice. • Explain exactly what happens next. • Link directly to the Member Area (member dashboard). • Tell them where to find recipes and other member content. • Reduce confusion right after purchase. Example thank-you copy (for the contractor to refine): • “Welcome to Nolan’s gluten-free soul food family!” • “Your membership is now active. Here’s what to do next:” 1. “Click the button below to go to your Member Dashboard.” 2. “From there, you can browse all Member Recipes, Meal Plans, and Guides.” 3. “Check your email for a welcome message with quick links and tips.” • “Where to find your recipes and resources:” • “Use the Member Recipes link in the main menu to see all member-only recipes.” • “Visit Meal Plans & Shopping Lists for ready-made plans and lists.” • “Go to Pantry & Substitution Guides if you’re new to gluten-free soul food and need a starting point.” • “If you ever get lost:” • “Return to your Member Dashboard using the menu link.” • “Use the Login link in the navigation to sign back in.” Deliverables: • Working login, account, and thank-you pages with customized, on-brand text. • Thank-you page that clearly guides new members to their next steps and content. --- 4. Reusable recipe page template (with WP Recipe Maker) • Create one recipe page layout that uses WP Recipe Maker’s recipe card and includes space for: • A short story or context about the dish. • Gluten-free notes or substitutions. • Optional tips/photos. • Make sure the layout is responsive and looks good on desktop and mobile. • Make it easy to reuse: • Show me how to duplicate this page/post, or how to insert WPRM recipe blocks in new posts using the same layout. Deliverables: • One reusable recipe page template/layout. • Simple written steps or a short Loom/video showing how I can add new recipes using this structure. --- 5. Member Area (member dashboard) and navigation • Create a Member Area / Member Dashboard page as the starting point for logged-in members. • Include clear sections or links (even if some are placeholders at first), such as: • Member Recipes • Meal Plans & Shopping Lists • Pantry & Substitution Guides • Freezer Prep & Printables • My Account • Add a Member Area link to the main menu/navigation. • Ensure: • The Member Area page is protected (only visible to logged-in members). • Non-members trying to access it are sent to the membership sales/registration page. Deliverables: • Member Area page created and protected. • Navigation updated so members can easily find their dashboard. --- 6. Free vs paid content setup • Identify with me: • 1–2 free/public recipes or posts. • 1–2 member-only recipes or resources (can be sample content). • Configure MemberPress Rules so: • Free content remains public and indexable for SEO. • Member-only content is correctly gated by the paid membership. • Check the experience for: • Logged-out visitor (what they see and where they’re invited to upgrade). • Logged-in member (what they see and how they get to content). Deliverables: • At least one working free recipe and one working member-only recipe/resource set up as examples. • Confirmed behavior for logged-in vs logged-out users. --- 7. Handoff & documentation • Provide a short written guide or Loom video covering: • How to add a new recipe with WP Recipe Maker. • How to label content as free vs member-only in MemberPress. • How to edit key pages (login, account, thank-you, Member Area). • Where to change membership pricing/details later. Deliverable: • A simple, non-technical handoff so I can manage recipes and membership content myself.
