Summary

About the Role We're a B2B technology consultancy specializing in Managed IT, API Integration, and Self-Hosted LLM / Private AI Deployment services. We're looking for a WordPress developer who can take ownership of our site's growth — building new pages within our existing theme, preserving and improving SEO across the board, and getting our WooCommerce-based partner marketplace back up and running. This isn't a "give me a Figma file and I'll build it" role. We need someone who can take a general direction, ask the right questions up front, and then run with it — making smart technical and creative decisions along the way without needing every detail spelled out. What You'll Be Doing Building new pages on our existing WordPress theme — matching the current design language, layout conventions, and brand voice without needing pixel-perfect mockups for every page. Preserving SEO on existing pages during any restructuring — this includes maintaining URL structures or setting up proper redirects, preserving meta data, and not breaking existing search rankings when pages are added, renamed, or reorganized. Optimizing new pages for SEO from the ground up — proper heading structure, internal linking between related pages (we use a hub-and-spoke content model), schema markup where relevant, and page speed considerations. Resuming and building out our WooCommerce "marketplace" section — we have a partially-built WooCommerce setup that needs to be completed, tested, and made ready for live use. Ongoing site maintenance and incremental improvements — plugin updates, minor design tweaks, troubleshooting, and implementing small enhancements as they come up. What We're Looking For Proven WordPress development experience, including working within existing themes (not just building from scratch) — please share examples of sites where you extended or modified an existing theme. Solid WooCommerce experience — setting up products, categories, payment/shipping configuration, and general marketplace functionality. Strong working knowledge of on-page SEO — you understand why preserving existing rankings matters when restructuring a site, and you know how to set up new pages so they have a real shot at ranking. Comfort working with minimal direction — we'll give you the goal and the context; we need you to fill in the "how" with good judgment, both technical and aesthetic. An eye for design/UX, even if you're not a dedicated designer — new pages should feel like they belong on the site, not bolted on. Clear communication — happy to work async, but you flag questions, blockers, and decisions as you go rather than going quiet for long stretches. Nice to Have Experience with B2B, technology, or professional services websites. Familiarity with content/SEO concepts like topic clusters, pillar pages, and internal linking strategy. Basic copywriting ability or comfort lightly editing page copy for clarity/flow. Experience with page builders commonly used on the existing site (Elementor, Divi, or similar — happy to confirm which once in conversation). Engagement Details Type: Contract / ongoing part-time — scope can start small (one or two pages + a WooCommerce assessment) and grow based on fit. Budget: Open to discussing hourly or per-project pricing depending on your preference and the scope of each piece of work. Working style: Remote, async-friendly, with periodic check-ins as needed. How to Apply Please send: A brief note on your experience with WordPress theme extension and WooCommerce specifically. 2-3 examples of sites you've worked on — ideally including at least one where you added pages to an existing site while maintaining SEO, and one with WooCommerce. A short answer (a few sentences) to this: "If you were asked to add a new service page to an existing site without a detailed mockup, how would you approach figuring out what it should look like?" — we're more interested in your thought process than a perfect answer.
