Summary

# Skyward Select Website Front-End Design Brief ## About Skyward Select Skyward Select is a specialist Building Services and Data Centre recruitment consultancy. We recruit white-collar construction professionals across the UK and Europe, working with MEP contractors, main contractors and specialist subcontractors. Our reputation is built on quality, honesty, technical understanding and long-term relationships. The website should reflect this. --- # Objective The website backend and functionality are already complete. I am **not** looking for a new website. I need an experienced front-end designer to transform the appearance of the existing WordPress website so it feels modern, premium and aligned with the Skyward Select brand. The goal is for visitors to immediately think: * Professional * Premium * Credible * Specialist * Trusted * Modern It should not feel like a typical recruitment agency website. --- # Target Audience ## Clients * Managing Directors * Operations Directors * Commercial Directors * Project Directors * Construction Directors * Contracts Managers * HR Managers These people are experienced professionals who value competence, reliability and quality over flashy marketing. --- ## Candidates Professionals including: * Mechanical Project Managers * Electrical Project Managers * Construction Managers * MEP Quantity Surveyors * Building Services Managers * Design Managers * Estimators * Project Engineers Many earn £70,000–£140,000+ and expect a professional experience. --- # Design Direction The overall feeling should be: Premium. Confident. Modern. Clean. Elegant. Minimal. Corporate. Sophisticated. Not loud. Not gimmicky. Not sales-heavy. --- # Branding Use the existing Skyward Select branding. Primary colours: * Dark Navy * Muted Gold * White / Off White The design should use plenty of white space and avoid clutter. --- # The Website Should Feel Like... A boutique consultancy. A high-end construction business. A modern technology company. A premium executive search firm. It should **not** feel like a generic recruitment agency full of stock photos and clichés. --- # Style I prefer: * Large clean sections * Strong typography * High-quality imagery * Subtle animations * Consistent spacing * Modern iconography * Elegant buttons * Clear calls to action I do **not** want: * Busy layouts * Cheap-looking graphics * Cartoon illustrations * Generic recruitment imagery * Excessive colours * Outdated design styles --- # Imagery Replace generic stock imagery wherever appropriate. Use imagery that reflects: * Data centres * Commercial construction * Building services engineering * Modern offices * Technical professionals * Collaboration * Quality workmanship Images should feel authentic and premium. --- # Pages to Review Review and improve every page on the website, including: * Home * About * Employers * Candidates * Live Vacancies * Specialisms * Contact * Any other public-facing pages --- # Scope of Work The project includes: * Refreshing the visual design * Improving layouts * Improving spacing and alignment * Updating typography * Replacing imagery * Applying branding consistently * Improving mobile responsiveness * Improving user journeys * Improving calls to action * Making the entire website feel cohesive The project does **not** include rebuilding the website or changing backend functionality unless agreed. --- # Success Criteria When someone visits the website, they should immediately think: "This company looks established." "They specialise in this market." "They look trustworthy." "They understand construction." "This feels like a premium business." The design should help build confidence before any conversation takes place. --- # Deliverables * A polished, fully updated front end * Consistent branding throughout * Improved visual hierarchy * Responsive design across desktop, tablet and mobile * Existing functionality preserved * Easy for me to edit in WordPress after completion --- # Communication Before making significant design changes, I would like to review proposed concepts or key page designs. Please include examples of previous WordPress front-end redesigns when applying.
