WordPress Web Developer for Nonprofit

We are a nonprofit organization seeking a WordPress web developer with experience in NGO or nonprofit websites. The role involves enhancing our existing website to improve functionality and user experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of WordPress and be able to implement design changes effectively. About Us: The American Friends of Jamaica (AFJ) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting communities in Jamaica through fundraising and charitable initiatives. Our website serves as the primary platform through which donors learn about our causes and make contributions. Scope of Work: We are looking for a developer to implement the following features and improvements: Visual Hierarchy: Simplify the layout so key information stands out, including bold headings, clear typography, and well-spaced sections that guide the visitor's eye naturally. Hover Effects: Add subtle hover effects to cause cards such as a slight zoom on images, background color changes, or revealing additional information to make the page more interactive. Scrolling Effects: Implement smooth or parallax scrolling to give the website a more dynamic and modern feel. Filters and Sorting: Allow users to filter causes by category such as health, education, and environment, and sort by urgency or popularity. Quick View Options: Add a hover or popup quick view feature for each cause so users can get a brief overview without leaving the main page. Donation Cart: Introduce a cart style feature that lets donors select and donate to multiple causes in a single checkout. Featured Causes: Create a featured causes section at the top of the page using a carousel or grid layout, to be updated regularly based on urgency or new campaigns. Search Bar: Add a search bar that allows visitors to find causes quickly by keyword, location, or category. Social Media Integration: Integrate social media links and sharing functionality throughout the website.
