WordPress / WooCommerce Developer — UK Pharmacy E-commerce Launch

Roughly 70% of the e-commerce surface is already shipped on staging. This brief covers the final ~30% to get the site selling real products to real customers in two weeks. The new developer takes over day-to-day delivery and becomes the primary point of contact with the client. Project lead (me) handles escalation, budget, scope creep, and the final production deploy sign-off. ## What's already built (so you hit the ground running) - Branded shop archive with hero, bestsellers carousel, category tiles, filter sidebar, pagination - Branded single product page (PDP) - Cart, checkout, and my-account brand pass — including branded empty cart treatment - POM (prescription-only) gating — Mounjaro/Wegovy etc. route through the consultation, not direct add-to-cart - Eligibility checker WordPress plugin (smart-pharmacy-eligibility/) — full clinical funnel, AJAX endpoints, custom DB table, WC checkout hand-off, assessment data stamped onto orders as _tc_elig_* meta - "Start Consultation" CTAs wired direct to the eligibility checker - Men's Health and Women's Health treatment landing pages (auto-seeded on first deploy) - Category thumbnails auto-fallback to most recent product imagery ## What you'll deliver (~2-week sprint) Week 1 — make it sellable - Stripe gateway live (replace Cash on Delivery) - UK VAT zones configured - UK shipping zones (Royal Mail + DPD) - Clinician order panel — readable assessment data on the WC order edit screen - ID upload page in the eligibility checker (secure storage, linked to order) Week 2 — real catalogue + go live - Migrate test catalogue to client's real product range (working session with client) - Branded transactional emails (order confirmation, dispatch, consultation status) - Hair Loss + ED treatment landing pages (same seeder pattern as Men's/Women's) - Production deploy + DNS cutover + smoke tests - Post-launch hotfix buffer ## How we work - The theme and the eligibility plugin are a custom build, developed inside **Claude Code**. Continued development is expected to use Claude Code (license provided on my account, or use your own if you have one). - Codebase follows established patterns — Tailwind + custom CSS in styles.css, ACF Pro-driven content, GitHub PR per change. Use your discretion on bespoke HTML/CSS where it makes sense, but default to existing conventions to keep the codebase coherent. - Branch + PR per change. Merge to main auto-deploys to Kinsta staging. Production deploys gated by client sign-off. - You run a weekly Friday demo with the client and send me one paragraph of progress async on Tuesdays. ## Tools provided - **Claude Code** — default setup is you working within my Claude Code account (seat/license provided). Alternative: use your own Claude Code account if you have one.
