Workflow & Operations Research Writer / Analyst for Lifecycle Management Methodology

We are looking for a research-oriented writer / analyst to help develop a methodology paper and operating framework around lifecycle workflow management. Our company has delivered complex professional services engagements where work moves through multiple phases: assessment, planning, remediation, validation, evidence collection, review, and ongoing monitoring. We are now developing a structured methodology and platform that can turn these recurring service workflows into a repeatable, measurable, and scalable operating system. This is not a generic content writing project. We are looking for someone who can help us think through complex workflows, identify bottlenecks, organize observations, and translate operational patterns into a clear methodology paper. The ideal person has experience or strong interest in areas such as: workflow design operations research industrial engineering process improvement service delivery models systems thinking lifecycle management operational analytics professional services workflow optimization Cybersecurity, compliance, or GRC experience is a plus, but not required. The more important skill is the ability to understand how complex work flows through people, processes, tools, handoffs, and decision points. Responsibilities Help organize and structure a lifecycle workflow methodology Conduct structured interviews with founder and team members Capture and synthesize operational observations from prior projects Identify recurring bottlenecks, handoff issues, and workflow inefficiencies Help define phases, roles, inputs, outputs, and decision points Assist in creating a research-backed methodology paper Translate complex process concepts into clear executive-level language Help develop diagrams, tables, and frameworks to explain the methodology Support development of an evidence map and source structure for the paper Ideal Candidate Strong analytical writing and synthesis skills Experience with workflow/process design or operations research concepts Ability to structure ambiguous information into clear frameworks Comfortable interviewing subject matter experts and extracting insights Strong systems-thinking mindset Able to connect field observations to repeatable methodology Experience writing white papers, methodology papers, business reports, or research-based content Bonus experience: industrial engineering Lean / Six Sigma service operations SaaS workflow platforms consulting operations cybersecurity / compliance / GRC Initial Deliverables We would like to start with a small paid discovery phase, which may include: reviewing our initial methodology outline creating an evidence capture structure conducting 1–2 founder/team interviews drafting an initial workflow methodology outline identifying key themes, bottlenecks, and process improvement opportunities If the first phase goes well, this may expand into a larger project to develop the full methodology paper and supporting materials.
