**About GR Stories** GR Stories is an editorial platform for international students and people living abroad. We publish thoughtful, personal writing about student life, identity, belonging, food, travel, routine, and the experience of building a life in a new place. We're interested in stories that feel lived, honest, and specific. Not content for clicks, but writing that helps people understand themselves and others through shared experience. **What We're Looking For** We're looking for contributors and aspiring editors who would like to pitch and write original articles for GR Stories. You do not need to be a professional writer. We welcome pitches from international students, recent graduates, and anyone with direct lived experience that aligns with our themes. What matters most is: * A clear point of view * Original thinking * Strong observation * Honest, personal storytelling * Clear and engaging writing **What We Publish** * Personal essays about student life abroad * Reflections on identity, belonging, routine, and change * Food stories and recipe-led essays * Practical guides with a personal perspective * Thoughtful travel writing * City notes and place-based observations * Journal-style writing and photo-supported stories **Not a Fit** * Generic listicles * SEO-focused content * Promotional or sponsored pieces * Heavily AI-generated writing * Articles with little personal perspective **Editorial Process** We usually start with a pitch rather than a completed article. If a pitch feels right for GR Stories, we may invite a full draft. Accepted work may be edited for clarity, structure, tone, and style. Publication is not guaranteed. Articles typically range from 600–2,500 words depending on format. **Compensation** Contribution is per article which gets accepted upon review. Once you completed a draft, this last will get sent to our review department, which will then propose modifications and/or publish the article. Once published, payment will be sent out accordingly. Compensation per article $5.00 **How to Apply** Please include: * A short introduction * Your connection to studying or living abroad * 1–3 article ideas you'd like to write * Your preferred language (English or Italian) * A short bio * Writing samples, if available Example pitch: --"I'd like to write about how cooking the same two meals every week became part of building a life abroad during my first year away.
