YouTube Editor for Guitar Education Channel (Paid Trial + Longterm Opportunity)
Worldwide
Hi! I'm a professional guitar teacher and musician growing a YouTube channel focused on making music theory and guitar easier to understand. I've edited all of my own videos so far, but I'm looking to build a relationship with an editor who can help me produce content more consistently. My goal isn't simply to hire an editor. I'm looking for someone who enjoys helping build a YouTube channel over time. Although this is posted as an ongoing opportunity, we'll begin with a single paid trial project. This gives both of us a chance to see if we're a good fit before moving forward with regular work. If the trial goes well, my goal is to build a long-term working relationship. Most of my videos are educational and performance-based. The priority is clean, professional editing that helps the lesson flow naturally. At the same time, I enjoy incorporating creative visual ideas when they genuinely improve the lesson, and I'd love to collaborate with someone who's excited to help bring those ideas to life. Typical Tasks Trim mistakes and dead space Sync multiple camera angles and audio Create split-screen layouts Basic zooms and text overlays Dialogue cleanup, audio enhancement, and noise reduction Reduce background noise when possible Basic color correction Export finished videos Occasionally create YouTube Shorts from long-form content I'm still refining my production workflow, so I'm looking for someone who communicates well and enjoys developing a repeatable editing process together. Ideally, as we work together, the workflow becomes faster, smoother, and more efficient. Motion Graphics & Educational Visuals Most projects will involve straightforward educational editing. However, I also have ideas involving motion graphics and visual explanations that help teach musical concepts. This won't be required on every project, but if you have experience in this area, I'd love to discuss what's possible, how that workflow typically works, and how typically price that type of work. One of my long-term goals is to build a library of reusable educational graphics, such as animated guitar fretboards, interval diagrams, chord shapes, scale visualizations, and other teaching tools that can be reused across many future videos. If this is something you have experience with, I'd love to hear how you would approach building those assets efficiently. What I'm Looking For Excellent communication Reliable turnaround times Strong attention to detail Someone who enjoys collaboration Strong dialogue editing and audio cleanup skills Ability to follow an established style while contributing creative ideas when appropriate Turnaround Time Turnaround time is important to me. I usually film late at night (roughly 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM Pacific Time), and I'd ideally like to receive a rough cut within about 24 hours whenever practical. My goal is to maintain creative momentum, so responsiveness and communication are just as important to me as the quality of the edit. The Paid Trial I'd like to begin with one paid trial edit so we can both determine whether we're a good fit. If the communication, editing style, turnaround time, and workflow work well for both of us, I'd love to continue working together on a regular basis. When You Apply Please include: A few examples of your editing work Your typical turnaround time What editing software you use Whether you typically charge hourly or per finished video Whether you've edited educational or tutorial content before Anything you'd like me to know about your workflow To make sure you've read this post, please begin your proposal with the words "Major Scale." Thank you! I'm looking forward to finding someone who's dependable, communicates well, enjoys collaborating, and is interested in building a long-term working relationship.
