YouTube Minecraft Video Editor
Worldwide
We're a growing Minecraft channel and we're looking for an editor who can turn raw livestream footage into captivating, highly watchable YouTube videos. You'll be handed multi-hour Minecraft streams and your job is to find the gold, the funny moments, the tense plays, the great builds and the storytelling beats and shape them into videos people can't stop watching. This isn't a "trim the start and end" gig. We want someone who treats every video as a story with a hook, a build and a payoff, and who genuinely cares about keeping viewers watching to the very end. What you'll be doing - Reviewing long-form livestream footage and identifying the best, most engaging moments - Cutting tight, fast-paced videos (typically 8–20 mins) optimised for YouTube retention - Removing dead air, downtime and tangents without losing the flow or personality - Writing/timing on-screen text, captions, zooms, sound effects and meme overlays where they add energy - Adding light motion graphics, transitions and intros/outros that match our brand - Mixing audio so voice, game sound and music sit well together (and stay copyright-safe) - Occasionally flagging strong clips for Shorts, thumbnails or promotion - Delivering on agreed deadlines and incorporating revision notes cleanly Who we're looking for (must-haves) - Proven gaming/streaming editing experience, a showreel or portfolio of YouTube gaming videos you've edited - A strong sense of pacing and retention, you understand hooks, jump cuts, and why viewers click away - Fluency in a pro editing suite: Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut, plus basic After Effects / motion graphics - Good audio instincts, balancing levels, ducking music under speech, and avoiding copyright strikes - Storytelling ability, you can find the narrative inside hours of unstructured footage - Reliability and clear communication: you hit deadlines and respond to notes without friction Bonus points (nice-to-haves) - You actually play games and watch gaming content and you get the humour and the moments that land - Deep familiarity with Minecraft and its community/culture and you know the meta, the memes and what fans love - You use AI to support your editing process: e.g. AI tools for transcription, auto-captions, clip detection, rough cuts, sound cleanup or speeding up your workflow. Tell us what you use and how it makes your edits better or faster - An eye for thumbnails and titles, or a sense of what makes a clickable video - Experience editing Shorts / TikTok / Reels alongside long-form - You stay on top of trends, formats and what's working on gaming YouTube right now The traits of our perfect editor beyond the technical skills, the person we're after: - Has taste. They know the difference between a clip that's fine and a clip that's gold, and they cut accordingly. - Edits for the viewer, not the timeline. Every cut earns its place. If a section drags, it gets tightened or cut. - Is fast without being sloppy. Streamers post often so turnaround matters, but quality can't slip. - Takes ownership. They suggest ideas, flag good moments, and treat the channel's growth as partly their job. - Is easy to work with. Low drama, clear comms, open to feedback, consistent week after week.
